Lane can’t even do it.

The backwards L ruined it.

The L just needs to go away. I will never get the image of BK doing the L out of my mind.

I don't get bent out of shape about it, but I've always hated it. As someone who grew up in the 90s, holding up an L will always mean "loser" to me

Yeah, took me a while to warm up to it. I grew up in the 70s, so I didn't grow up with that, but my kids did. We even have an emoticon on TD with the L loser sign.

That and goat has completely flipped.

The last thing you wanted to be in the 80s was a goat.

“L” to the forehead is “loser”. Placement matters with hand gestures.

When did we start using the L hand sign? Sometime between 2013 and 2016, I think. If I remember correctly, it was used a lot when “Bitch, I’m from Louisiana” would play before kickoffs. I also remember Sonic Sam throwing up Ls back in 2011 and 2012.

Placement matters with ASL; in the early 2000s, if you had looked at someone and held out your hand in the shape of an L while making eye contact, practically no one would have interpreted that as "well, their hand isn't on their forehead, so it must mean something else..."

Everyone would have thought you were calling them a loser.

I’m thinking it might’ve actually been Sonic Sam that started the L hand sign
