Looks great on paper

I've learned not to get too excited with the way things look on paper. The major question is "Will they have leadership on the team and will they put in the work both in the weight room and the playbook as well as the classroom. The 2019 team is the measuring stick. Joe B. came in and showed by example and garnered the respect of the team. Everything fell in place as the players were in great shape, played physical, and was the best offensive playbook I've ever seen at LSU. I can only hope that things go as well for this 2026 LSU Football team. Geaux Tigers!

I don’t know, but I’m pretty excited to see this team come together. Very excited Kelly is gone and we got Lane.

If you're not excited you've lost your mind.

If it all goes sideways....

It's simple Kelly went on retirement and Lane is working his tail off, I'm excited no matter who we get! Ready for the 2026 season already!!

What a shitty take. Do you have any idea how much work it's going to take to run Kiffin's hurry up offense? The kind that creates competition and hardship that molds a team. I assume this has been conveyed to everyone before they signed. Be prepared to not see substitutions much like 2019 ran. Likely to have plenty of opponents puking tying to keep up with us.

I for one am very excited to see what a real coaching staff that can actually develop players will have this team looking like.

I am more worried about what happens after he wins the NC. Will he check out like O and start actively chasing pussy??

Agreed- getting the talent is obviously huge. But it’s not everything.

There isn't a single school ahead of LSU with the issues that concern the OP. Kiffin has done what he can do this time of year, bring in football players. From here to Clemson will involve organization and coaching. Kiffin had a plan for recruiting and it was a good one. I trust he has a plan going forward,

It's hard to project how a team is going to gel in the age of mercenary football, but one thing is clear. Lane and staff are working their arse off recruiting and aren't going to be complacent when it comes to coaching and development so you know they are going to put a good product on the field.
There are no rebuilds anymore. It's an annual reset which probably fits Kiffin's mindset as well if not better than any other coach in CFB. He was basically doing this before CFB evolved into it.
