I believe Kiffin has reset the market of NIL/Rev Share

Kiffin knew the potential of LSU and is pushing the envelope (no pun intended) on what is fair market value. I think most of the country weren’t expecting LSU to pony up like they did. I expect next year to be more challenging but still successful as it appears Kiffin is one step ahead at this point. Hope he keeps a step forward

If he makes the playoffs, he will have even more money to spend the following year
Results will bring out more

I think Kiffin believes that alot of this wheeling and dealing will have to stop, or at least be curtailed/capped. In fact, he may even be out to prove it.
If/when things are tapered back, he believes we're still well positioned on the recruiting front as a brand, location, etc. It is one of the main reasons he came - LSU can compete in any of the recruiting landscapes.

If everyone is offering the same then coach/system will come back into decision making for recruits not just paycheck.

This isnt a "may". Its factual.
He did the same with faking injuries. Remember hes the one that got the rule changed.
Its his MO. Bend things until they break and then find something new to exploit. Hes got more Saban in him than he knows.

He has said and will say "if it's allowed I'm going to take advantage of it until they change the rule, regardless of whether or not I think it's a good rule" (paraphrasing)

Let's not forget the generosity of members of the Tiger Athletic Fund and other donors. Pretty impressive.

We shouldn’t have to replace so many players next year. Cupboards will have been refilled.

Curious if we see teams like South Carolina essentially save some 2026 & 2027 NIL money, and then go all out for 2028. Sort of like how the mid-majors set up their basketball rosters to be competitive every 4 seasons with very experienced seniors.
They know they can’t compete with their budget, but skipping a few years of portal madness should fill the coffers for the third or fourth year.

I agree with you about Kiffin and LSU potential. When the money is there around the country, many things will be a bigger part of player recruitment and retention. Past relationships, past player development, the pay equity in the program, coach-player relationships, consistency in messaging to the team from coaches, and so on. Many things and Coach Kiffin seems to have a good handle on many of these. The not over paying for underperforming players is critical to many of these players and their want for the team.

players that we sign this year will have to be re-signed. they can always explore their options

Yes. But if they improve and LSU is even mildly successful, they will want more. No problem paying for performers that contribute their share. Non performance earns no raise or cut. If they leave, so be it. See last year’s team

Standby for a phone call from the ticket office wanting donations. I got mine today.

I would bet Texas per player is out spending us. We just needed so many players.
