LSU should open the vault and go get Sampson from Houston.

He will turn this basketball program into an immediate contender. McMahon tried, but he isn’t getting it done. Sampson would bring immediate excitement to the PMAC!

He is not leaving Houston

The 70 year old

No way he would leave for LSU, no matter the amount of money. If he was 15 years younger, maybe.

His son could be coach in waiting

I wish it were that simple. Houston is his Alma mater.

I appreciate your desire to problem solve. But there are other coaches out there who can build a program as well. Who aren’t 70 and making more than twice our current coaches pay. Just have to find them.

Regardless of his age this would never happen. Houston has a sneaky good NIL fund with 2/3rds of it going to their basketball program alone. It is spearheaded by ultra wealthy billionaire Tillman Fertitta (UH Grad) who has a personal vested interest in the basketball program. Long story short, Sampson could be 20 years younger and this would still never happen due to the above.

He’s not leaving Houston…for a multitude of reasons. Aside from that, he’s had a lengthy show cause and put TWO programs on probation! For some in our fanbase it appears that makes him a coach a non-starter

Job is not open, a-hole.

No way. Houston puts tons of resources into the program and has tons of history. You can win a national title there while we're barely trying to be a consistent NIT program.

He went to some small school in North Carolina

Kelvin Sampson is 70 years old and he already has one of the top 5~8 programs in the nation built at Houston. It's not happening.

That's his last stop. I'm not sure I can name one reason he would come to LSU.

He’s retiring with Houston. Dumb post.

Dude…that’s Ralph Sampson and he didn’t play for the Houston Cougars.
