Yesterday was windy as all get out. Calm so far this morning. I think most of the deer went nocturnal around here.
Good luck, baws.

He found her! I'd imagine he has made over 30 sits this season in just about every condition and only had one in range. He let the only other deer that came in range walk, a young 8 point in Illinois on his first sit. His brother shot that buck 20 mins after dad passed on him. He has been bringing me bowhunt public land for nearly two decades now and is the reason I never gun hunt. Today is a great day!

Congrats to him! Nothing like bowhunting. I picked up the gun one time so far this season. Every sit other than that one was with the bow and wouldn't change a thing.

I’ve been sitting since 6:15 and have seen 4 squirrels and a rabbit. Guess I’m going to stay until the storms come. I’m not complaining. First time in the woods for 2 years. Enjoying the peace and quiet.

Glad your dad got one, baw!

Last year I had hernia surgery and this year work and family issues has taken over my life. Sucks, because my Dad is getting up there in age and I hate missing hunting trips with him. Glad to be here now, though.

Today will be only the third time in my life I’ve sat in the stand from before dawn to dark. I’ve seen 2 yearlings about 200 yards out. Hoping something comes out so I can put some meat in the freezer. Looks like the storm won’t get here until after dark, so that’s good news.

Area 2
Howa 6.5 grendel
73*

Will be a nearly 72hr hunt fest. Trying to get one more for the freezer. I was wondering how the storms would shake out for us and they’ve held.

I’ve got hogs I need to take care of probably early tomorrow morning if the storms provide a break.

I’ll probably break down the doe from earlier in the week tomorrow late morning.
