Has anyone else been experiencing very inconsistent service with Verizon around BR?

I live in Denham Springs and service has basically nonexistent in a good part of the city and seems spotty around BR.

You have to use the detailed coverage maps, as coverage can vary block to block.

yep, I had verizon for about 10 years and it got so bad recently, I switched to ATT.

Haven't had any issues since, and my bill is lower

We switched to Verizon about a year and half back because At&T was pretty much non existent at my house. Verizon has seemed to go down hill the last 4-5 months. When I leave my house, I can barely send a text until I cross the Amite

In Denham too, had Verizon and service got terrible, at home on LTE where as a few months ago was 5g and good. Ended up changing to TMobile. No issues so far, and pleased.

I recently switched to AT&T fiber and the salesmen told me Verizon was renting tower space from AT&T and they’ve recently stopped doing that since they were expanding fiber and wanting to convince people to bundle service. Who knows if that’s true

I’ve had all major carriers over the last 20 years and Verizon for the last 8 or so. Verizon was alway a cut above….

UNTIL THE LAST FEW YEARS.

The last year in particular has been horrible. In BR it’s bad but NOLA is even worse. I can’t even connect a call on the Causeway most days.

I’m counting the days until the contract ends; hopefully I’ll make it that far, but may take the next buyout deal that comes around.

It must be systemic, because I’ve even been getting emails from Verizon about the “inconvenience” as they’re “upgrading their system”

I have bad service with Verizon in areas of BR. Changing to US Mobile in 2 months. They have a function where you can switch between T Mobile, Verizon and ATT towers whenever you want.

I'm not familiar with US Mobile, but that switching function seems like a great hack. What's the price point like? Wife and I are looking to possibly switch to Cricket Wireless, for the main purpose of saving money. Current Verizon plan is $203 and looks like Cricket would be $104

Anybody uses Cricket and have any feedback???....Would be greatly appreciated.

Cricket uses AT&T towers. We had AT&T up until about 2011 and switched at that time because service was terrible. Last few years friends and family don't seem to have those issues so I guess they improved

Plus as mentioned here Verizon service has gotten worse. I first noticed it 2 weeks after Hurricane Ida hit in 2021. Immediately after storm it was pretty normal then at the 2 week mark my phone basically was a paperweight at work. I assumed it was maybe them repairing/replacing anything from the storm or just coincidental time for upgrading their equipment. It eventually got better, but still has never been as good as it was prior to that.
