The only way to fix the mess is taking the money from the federal government.

I'm convinced if the federal government is removed from all social programs and the states are the entities to administer such programs...then we have a chance to save this constitutional republic.
States will either prosper or fail based on their fiscal policies and prudent use of taxpayer money.
The federal government's responsibilities should be strictly limited to national defense, large infrastructure projects, certain research projects that serve the interest of US citizens, assistance for national catastrophes, hurricanes, earthquakes and such.
If this ^^^ is all the federal government is required to do I would guesstimate 80% of the money currently being remitted to the federal government through taxation would be retained at the state level.

How many time have you heard the markets hate uncertainty?
All the time.
I truly believe you could get some of the most learned economic and financial gurus together and they could come devise an interest rate policy based on fixed rates for various types of corporate/business and consumer loans so everyone knows what the cost to borrow money will be all the time. No more whipsawing of interest rates by the federal reserve, everyone understands the cost to borrowed money so plan accordingly.
NO MORE UNCERTAINTY!!!!!

After 10-15 million illegals are removed from the US there should be a 5-10 year moratorium on all immigration. We have millions of immigrants over the past 30 years who still haven't or refuse to assimilate.

The needy Democratic Socialists begin their down voting.

The states have the power to do what you post.

Makes a person wonder why they won't, doesn't it?
You could go to any street corner in most cities and towns and do a street level poll on whether the citizenry wants a federal balanced budget amendment, congressional term limits, and a ban on congressional members trading stocks and you would get 80% of Americans wanting legislation passed to address the aforementioned......but our elected politicians never do any of it.
I wonder why.....hmmmm?

I pay a shitload more to the fedgov than I do the State.
In all honesty, the Constitution laid the framework that the polar opposite should be happening.
Let the States handle themselves as was intended with only very limited federal oversight, and let it all play out as it will.

The citizens might say yes to this a survey, but they do not really want this.
If this happens, either we have to raise taxes (Republicans go "BOO!!!") or cut spending (Democrats go "BOO!!!"). The cuts/taxes would have to be massive.
The elected officials in charge at the federal level get elected by making voters happy. The easiest way to do that is to borrow money and let the future deal with the mess.

The people who pay taxes, who are responsible and live within their means definitely want a balanced budget amendment, those who have relied generationally on the US taxpayer to pay for their basic needs.....probably not.

The money part will never get fixed.
The only question is, how long before we default?

Great post. You are 100% correct. This is the way forward. Will not happen though. Power is rarely given up by the feds on anything, much less tax dollars
