The transfer portal and the many that say its broken

There is nothing to fix. The only reason things seem to be broken is because of the "amount of crying" that goes on during the portal. When Jan 16th gets here, all of this "cry baby bs" is over and then nobody gives a flying F anymore. I'll admit, NIL moneywise, needs some updates perhaps but all this crying about who changed their minds after saying yes or no to what school and such ends Jan 16th.
This whole transfer portal and the NIL deals are only a problem cause "somebody" got mad. Downvote away but facts. Watch all the whining on this thread about the portal.

You should get one free transfer then sit out a year like the old rules. Commit to the school you wanna go to out of high school. After 2 years if you’re not where you want to be, transfer for a better opportunity. If something goes haywire at your next stop and you just have to get out, transfer again but have to sit out a year.

I disagree that it isn't broken. None of this should be happening prior to the championship game. And its a free-for-all. But this could easily be fixed by1) adjusting the schedule so that the championship game is always on January 1st, 2) have the portal window open on January 2nd, and 3) going back to the sit rule where a player had to sit out a season if he transferred to another D1 program. If you did that, you could have your cake and eat it too. You can have NIL and not have the free-for-all we currently have with portal. And due to the timing of the portal window, you'll very likely have fewer opt outs for these bowl game, giving us better games again.

LSU will be fine, probably even better.
Smaller schools it sucks.
North Texas for instance had a great season with young talent- that team got destroyed.
I like Toledo, we had a very good MAC team. Head coach and defensive coordinator got new jobs and our team is decimated now.
