We know there's been celebrations in Venezuela and wherever their ex-pats gather after the capture of Madero. So why do so many conservatives, even Nick Shirley, get struck with community notes showing old or often unrelated crowd shots that have nothing to do with last week's events?

I get why X is doing its due diligence, if the post is inaccurate, then so be it. But why are so many posters on X so damn lazy? Who are they trusting with these vids in the 1st place?

They MUST know the Left are going to come after them, and even lie, if they must so why give them free material?

Just show authentic vids, and stop relying on corporate media. Posting the wrong stuff only leads to confusion and gives the pro Maduro / anti-Trump clowns ammunition to claim the celebrations aren't real, or only isolated events. Corporate media has already started in with this narrative, and it only helps their messaging.

No one doubts that the majority of Venezuelans are thrilled.

It distorts reality to say that there are mass public celebrations IN Venezuela going on now, because the same regime is still in power, and there would be punishment.

I saw a man being interviewed in Miami at a celebration; he said he drove down from Orlando for it.

There were mass public celebrations when we toppled Sadam.

This was the easy part.

Difference being that it took 15 years to capture Saddam Hussein & in less than three hours Maduro was out of the country & on a U.S. warship.

That doesn’t really change the question from “what now?”

We were trying to "capture" him in 1989?

Even if you’re starting the clock in 1990, regime change wasn't an objective in Gulf War I. Bush explicitly rejected regime change.

You can’t count years toward an objective that didn’t exist. Regime change didn’t become U.S. policy until 2003, and Saddam was captured the same year.

Has this issue just now become a concern to you? Many, many of the hack accounts followed around here have gotten piles of clicks by using old and/or fake video.

Yes, it is just now a concern. Because there’s no need for it, and these idiots are actually feeding into the leftist narrative.

There is never a need for it. Any time it is used it is to rage bait and drive clicks. An account doing it should receive a mandatory permanent suspension from the platform.

Actually, there are times where rage is justified. Like entire networks falsely accuse the president of insurrection or colluding with Russians when in fact, it never happened.

To the media, it’s a knock on Blumpf if they weren’t celebrating. I’m sure the poor there prefer to live in poverty, running illegal narcotics for extra coin and wondering when their next meal will arrive. I’m sure they are loving it.
