General Caine's necktie knot

This is NOT an "important question," but I have a quick question for the military vets.
I always thought that the military uses a four-in-hand knot for neckties, but General Caine seems to be using a Half-Windsor.
Am I mistaken about the four-in-hand being the standard?

Looks like a full Windsor to me.

Either way, I am curious about the four-in-hand.

I’m pretty sure it’s optional to use either one

I used a clip-on for 12 years when I had to wear a tie . It's not a big deal

Google AI answer to the question:
quote:
The standard tie knots for U.S. military members are the Four-in-Hand, Half-Windsor, and Full Windsor, with regulations generally allowing any neat, standard knot that presents a sharp military appearance, with the tie's tip ending at the belt buckle. While historically the Four-in-Hand was common (especially WWII), the Half-Windsor and Full Windsor became popular for their symmetrical, fuller look, especially with officers, and are now widely accepted across services like the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force.

Thanks.
I was probably thinking of all the WW2 era photos that I've seen.

I wonder what prompted him to make an alt account? I always found him to be at least one of the more reasonable of the leftist lunatics that have been board contributors through the years. Can't imagine he caught a ban.
