What governments have we overthrown in the last 50 years? Iraq is the only regime I can think of that we actually fought with and removed Saddam. And that was deserved and asked for by Saddam.
You can argue that we shouldn’t try to influence countries without cause. But when a regime is hostile towards the US, we have every right, and an obligation, to respond. And that response is whatever the sitting president chooses, within his constitutional authority.
