If tweet fails to load, click here. December 31: FBI taking on public corruption
As we wrap up 2025, your @FBI has an update for you on our efforts to crush public corruption and restore trust in federal law enforcement.
This is one of the most important efforts we’ve undertaken at the Bureau. You deserve to have confidence in your public officials - and to know that justice will be applied without fear or favor. That has not been the case in recent history. We have been working day and night to rebuild that confidence.
These are very much ongoing investigations - much of which we cannot discuss publicly out of respect for the investigative process, Constitutional presumption of innocence, and the judicial process. Equally - there are many public corruption investigations going on as we speak that the public may know very little about - or even none at all.
In less than a year, here is some of what we’ve undertaken:
-James Comey, former FBI Director, indicted for allegedly lying to Congress during a 2020 Congressional hearing. This is an ongoing case.
-Leticia James, New York AG, indicted in October for allegedly committing bank fraud and making false statements to a financial institution.
-Judge Hannah Dugan out of Wisconsin, indicted and convicted for felony obstruction - impeding federal immigration authorities attempting to detain an illegal immigrant. The Judge is awaiting sentencing.
-In Mississippi, 20 indictments - including 14 Mississippi current and former law enforcement officials - on charges of drug trafficking and bribery.
-Linda Sun, a former senior aide to Governors Kathy Hochul and Andrew Cuomo in New York, indicted for allegedly taking bribes from China. This is an ongoing trial.
-U.S. Representative Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, indicted on multiple federal charges including money laundering and conspiracy to steal federal disaster funds.
-Former Ambassador John Bolton, indicted on 18 federal charges, including unlawful retention and transmission of classified material.
-In the Minnesota fraud investigation, 78 indicted, 57 convicted in the investigation of public corruption and misuse of taxpayer funds. Between late May 2025 and December 2025, we have had 16 open investigations into approximately 32 healthcare and homecare providers accused of fraud. This remains very much an ongoing investigation.
-Dana Williamson, Governor Gavin Newsom’s former chief of staff, indicted on federal public corruption charges including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud.
-New Orleans Mayor Latoya Cantrell, indicted on 11 federal charges for allegedly misusing public funds.
-Even here, at your FBI, we dismantled the corrupt CR-15 squad that had been caught blatantly weaponizing law enforcement and politically targeting individuals. That unit no longer exists, and those responsible have been removed.
Dismantling public corruption is a top priority of our leadership team here - we’ve worked day and night on that mission and will continue to do so until justice is done.

Any indictments or prosecutions against them?

How many FBI agents were assigned to arresting Jan. 6th attendees? Send that many to Minnesota. Even Trump's most staunch supporters are going to start getting disillusioned if this doesn't end in some major arrests.

The indictments have lead to nothing but X posts!

This administration is looking just as crooked as past administrations. Trump term 1 was light years better and this time he doesn’t even have to worry about another election for himself. All up BiBi’s arse and nothing but talk about weeding out corruption. They’ll get some low level idiots and call it a day, allowing the protected class to get away with it.

Until bad people go to jail, nothing will change!

Sheeeeeeit. There will be fewer FBI agents investigating Minnesota fraud than showed up at the Bubba Wallace noose hoax.

Citing the James Comey case, which resulted in a dismissal, is just plain dumb. How about you get to work on those redactions for the mysterious 5 million pages of Epstein files that just magically appeared?? Can’t trust this guy at all.

NONE of this was supposed to happen in 2025. I'm sure you knew this though right? Can you not comprehend the fact that they are working on a massive grand conspiracy and they sat back and observed every interview, newscast, podcast, x post, tv interview, radio interview, blue sky post, etc watching And documenting them all still committing the act of the grand conspiracy that involves all of this?

Well what’s major?
Hundreds of thousands of people have been detained and deported.
That’s pretty major.
