For those worried that LSU can not get two qbs out of the portal

LSU is in the never seen before crazy situation where they basically have one qb on their depth chart, Van Buren, and zero qbs in their recent recruiting class. How is that even possible? How do you get 2 qbs in the portal when the assumption is kids go the portal for playing time? Would another portal qb even come to LSU iif LSU gets a Sorsby, Leavit or Lagway in the portal?
Not to worry. A blindfolded monkey could throw a dart in the forum and hit a qb. 247 currently lists a whopping 93 QBs in the portal, most of which are not going to go start at a major school. TJ Finley, who is thought to have a condo in the portal, is the number 53 qb in the portal. So there are 40 qbs in the portal not as good as Finley? Lol.
The portal is not just about playing time anymore, it’s $$$$$ too. Kiffin found Chambliss who was willing to sit behind Simmons last year. There are elite college qbs in the portal looking for a place to start, no doubt, and LSU will get one of the elevate qbs, no doubt. There are quality developmental qbs in the portal too who are willing to go an LSU for the right price to sit behind a starter.
A quality back up qb at LSU can probably make more than a starter at some small colleges and, if the guy in front of him at LSU turns an ankle, can suddenly be on prime time tv starting for LSU.
The portal is teeming with players at every position. Kiffin has proven he can build a contender through the portal at schools with lunch less resources than LSU. There’s gonna be more “booms” on this site in January than all of last year.

Good points. I have been thinking, why get a one and done QB? I think you go for someone like JD that has at least 2 years. If you can get both, cool, but I would rather someone that would be here at least 2 seasons.

I'm not worried about Kiffin attracting QBs.

The reason you get a Lane Kiffin as coach is to put to rest the questions at the quarterback position.
Kiffin will get the best quarterbacks he can. He will have them playing the best they can. If that means Van Buren, then I will trust that Lane knows what he is doing.
We as LSU fans are not used to trusting the coach in this way, so it will be a welcome change.

Been done before. You get a stud guaranteed starter for one year and a guy with potential to be the guy that has 2-3 years left. Preferably you get a couple of the guys with potential that have multiple years left and they battle it out in their second year along with MVB if still here and with Pop who will be coming in that year
