Yeah, unfortunately.. I have a cousin who does a lot of installations in the city, works some with the fire dept.. he says all the restaurants in the Quarters , even the famous “institutions”- are infested with rats and other unappetizing things.. he wont eat in the City.. im not sure about outside of the French Quarter though …. Me myself, im not often in the City these days, but when i am i just try to put that knowledge out of my head, for as long as im there, even though i know better .

Not to knight for "the City" but that's pretty much every restaurant anywhere. For that matter you probably have rats in your house, regardless of how clean it is. They're damn near impossible to completely eliminate.

You shouldn’t have rats running rampant in your house if you do something is seriously wrong. You might have the occasional mouse. There’s no excuses for a restaurant to get overtaken by rats. They need to do a better job plain and simple.

Especially in the quarter. I can only imagine the undertaking it would have to be to try and get rid of them, and even then, they would just come back.
