Wife got me a fine little gift for Christmas. Little gun weighs 3.5 pounds and has BX trigger from factory. VERY light, and fun to shoot. Carbon fiber THREADED barrel. Pick one up. You will enjoy it

Bought mine a few weeks ago but haven’t shot it yet. I’m going the scope route vs red dot style.

How do you like that optic for the .22?

I like the dot. Accurate up to 100 yds. I wont be shooting past 100 with it.

I participate in a steel challenge. This gun is perfect for that.

I like CCI. It will cycle all ammo I have except 710fps.

I have a Dead Air Mask installed on it

Exactly why I had to get a bolt action earlier this year. I want to plink in my suburban backyard so it has to be 710fps. And unfortunately I couldn’t find a threaded one from Ruger, at least not for under $400, so I got stuck with a shitty Savage. Ruger is much better.

Springfield has a bolt action. Supposedly made by Retay in Turkey.
Looking at the Ruger 10/22 or possibly the Springfield. Any other 22lr bolt or semiautomatics that anyone would recommend?

I would just get the Ruger 10/22 if you’re not trying to cycle weak subsonic ammo

Best semi .22 ever made is the Browning SA 22.

The 10/22 is the standard though. I have 3 of them (though one isn't finished, brownells brn22 frame). For the price and all the aftermarket parts available, it's hard to beat.

I don't know how they perform now, but the Marlin Model 60 is a great rifle as well.
For a bolt, Savage is very good, but the CZ 527 is very, very good and very accurate. Lots of aftermarket parts for it as well.

ETA: I have a Ruger Precision 22 and I really like it a lot. Very accurate though heavy.

completely different platform but my 15/22 cycles subs with a suppressor no problem. Gemtech makes quality subsonic ammo but honestly the far cheaper CCI standard velocity is almost as quiet so that’s what I usually use

the 15/22 is light as a feather, super simple and easy to clean and mags are cheap and reliable

and yet another vote for CZ.

I'm not sure which model it is but a buddy of mine has a CZ bolt action .22 that will put every round through the same hole

Where are you seeing this carbon model for less than $400?

In addition to the 10/22s, check out some of the Ruger 22 Charger custom builds on YouTube. There are some pretty awesome builds with folding braces, binary triggers, 6" carbon threaded barrels, competition bolts, suppressors, etc.
