hes got 2 years left on his deal, hes 28, hes on a fairly reasonable contract.. and hes one of the best defensive tackles... heck one of the best defensive players in the league.

Feels like a dominant DT is something that could really take our team to the next level, but theres not really a dominant DT in this draft.

Isn’t he a 4-3 DT? Would he even work as a nose in a 3-4?

In a fricking heartbeat. It doesn’t matter what scheme you run, he fits them all. He and Chris Jones are the best interior DL in the game today.

Seems maybe to be the case with him.

A late first maybe. Not a top 10 pick. That's insanity.

He’s a great one but in our situation, no I wouldn’t. He’s 28 and if we knew we were a player or two away from making a run and had a desperate need for a DT and we’re drafting in the second half of the first round, then probably.

Maybe next year if Shough cements himself as a top 10 QB next year. Right now, he’s just our guy. Next year we find out how good our guy is. I’m not trading away picks for guys like Simmons until Shough proves he can do this again next year.

Play, Simmons is 28, has a huge contract AND I want to see more from Broughton before I make any significant investments on the DL

No, that's a win now move and we should not be doing that

Would you trade a 1st for Jeffrey Simmons?

That’s a really good question. Only hesitation is his age and salary.

I disagree a little here. I really like A'Mauri Washington, Dontay Corleon, Kayden McDonald, Christen Miller and Darrell Jackson Jr. as possible NTs for us.

If we had one of those guys, I think it frees up Breese to play the pass a little more which he’s better at.

The DT from Clemson? He got a lot of DTs didn't he?

No clue if he would be worth it to the Saints,

He is definitely a game changer and a huge part of whichever team he is on for the foreseeable future

Not with the scheme we run. You need more Normand Hand than you do Simmons.

In an ideal world, someone with the same skill set as Wayne Martin or Frank Warren would feast.
