I want to see how much more competitive the Kentucky game is. Only Duke and La Tech have given any test so far. I feel good about the team though.

Mulkey obviously realizes what she’s built and what she has with this team. Not only generational individual talent, but a very cohesive group that goes 11 deep or more. Bella Hines, Grace Knox, Zakiyah Johnson, and Richard could prove to be the best bench in WCBB.

FlauJay, Mikayla and Fulwiley can create their own shots in one-on-one matchups as good as anyone in the country. Then they have the beef in the post with Koval, Joyner and even the freshman Yarnovich…..and did I
Mention future All American Grace Knox? And they run the floor and PLAY SWARMING DEFENSE better than any team Mulkey has had at LSU. I’m buying Kim Mulkey stock in my portfolio.

All of this. And that 11 deep squad seems to be infinitely interchangeable. Not on the sense that they can each play all positions. Mor like It’s there are not just 2-3 combinations of players she can put in together. She can almost sub any of them at any time fir any player on the court and they will keep rolling.

Ok officially, but not really. Just like Fulwiley isn’t a bench player.

Exactly. It seems like she’s been trying many different combinations of line ups. USCe is damn good too but I’d hate to be Dawn Staley this season trying to combat this gargantuan offense and defense.

Texas seems the best SEC WBB team so far this year. Their defense is really tough. We have not beaten Texas (since they entered the SEC) nor have we beaten Carolina in Kim Mulkey's 4+ seasons.

We have a great and deep team, but so does Carolina and Texas.

I cannot wait to see how we play versus UK and @Vandy in our first 2 SEC games. It's getting real now.

Good post but I’ll be interested to see how much Mulkey sticks with playing this many players. If you watched the Duke game(our only legitimate opponent) we only played 8 players. IMO she should, even if it results in losses.

Starting on a Mulkey team doesn't mean what it may on another team. So this is probably a pretty true statement. Jada is by far the best PG on the team; she isn't as good a shooter as Fulwiley, though her 3-point percentage is better. But she doesn't score like Fulwiley.

Thus far, Jada and Fulwiley have split minutes almost evenly. This goes back to the way Mulkey uses people throughout the game and why starting is not as significant for one of her teams as for others.

Looks like the toughest stretch of the season.
Interesting to see if Mulkey uses the bench as much as she’s been in non conference play .

Every year the jump out and crush everybody at first. Then reality sets in when they start playing teams with a pulse.

I do too, I do wish we were a bit more battle tested but as I've said before that's Kim's M.O. and she's probably one of the 3 best women's coaches of all time so.....

Main issue with this team is lack of 3 point shooters but the Natty Team was not a good 3pt shotting team either?

In the National Championship Season2023, our 3pt shooting, in finals, was phenomenal. So….

The reality that they still keep winning?

2021-2022 26-6 (13-3), 2nd in the SEC, NCAA 2nd Round
2022-2023 34-2 (15-1), 2nd in the SEC, National Champions
2023-2024 31-6 (13-3), 2nd in the SEC, Elite Eight
2024-2025 31-6 (12-4), 3rd in the SEC, Elite Eight

Some people just want to complain about something, I guess.

1 championship and 2 elite 8s is the reality, right?

Meh, I’m sure Alabama State helped prepare them for what’s to come.

Yes it was. Not necessarily a big deal if you get hot at the right time. Time this team has plenty of weapons and are capable of playing a multitude of styles. Can play halfcourt when needed. Calling card is definitely D, creating turnovers, and getting up and down in transition.
