---would you trade Herb to Thunder for just ONE of their 1st round picks in 2026?

List of current best possibilities:
Clippers 1st round pick (unprotected) & Clips currently sit at #5
76ers 1st round pick (top 4 protected) & 76ers currently sit at #17
Utah 1st round pick (top 8 protected) & Jazz currently sit at #8

We need future assets more than we need win now guys that could net a first. I realize building around queen and fears is gonna take time. Super stars become consistent superstars at what, around year 5 in the league? I’m good with sending him out for a first that has top 20 potential. I’d def insist on their best potential first. That’s just me

I imagine the Pels would luv to trade Herb for Clips pick...which is pretty much guaranteed to be a lottery pick. Most likely to be somewhere in top 7 or so. Can't see Thunder going that direction. Rest of NBA is terrified of Thunder ending up with a top 3 pick with this Clippers option.

Honestly, I’m genuinely curious how future trades will be handled due to the overwhelming backlash.

If we are picking between those picks. I would not trade Herb for anything less than the Clippers pick.

Since I can expertly predict the future...I hereby predict.. that will end up being the #9 overall pick in the 2026 draft.

I could live with that for the Pels...how about you?

EDIT: Plus OKC would need to kick in somebody...as a salary match...that would also hopefully benefit the Pels

You have to trade Herb and Trey (and Zion, but that's a given) this season/offseason before the draft.

Herb may be my favorite Pels player of all-time, but the unfortunate truth of all of this is that we botched the Zion era so bad, that those contracts no longer matchup with our timeline.

Accept it, we need to start over and do a full on rebuild with Fears and Queen as the beginning of a new core. By the time we get to the point where they are entering their prime, Herb, Trey and Zion's contracts will be running out and they are sure as shite not re-signing with us.

We need to use those three now to get back into the lottery and then tank next year for another lottery pick.

Stop thinking that we can make one or two moves that can maybe push into the play-in or playoffs, that does us no good. We need to bottom out.

Except that I think we all know that Gayle is unlikely to allow Dumars to intentionally bottom out, so talking about it is a waste of time.

You need to make up your mind. You've also said Gayle doesn't now the Pels exist.

Franchise will never tank.

They will hire Ham or Ollie and compete for the 10 seed next year

Can't disagree with any of this...and too many teams are interested in Herb. He will probably be gone in February. Hard to say "when"...on Zion and even Trey.

Yep. People may as well forget about a true tank…

So fans should accept that as is and not speak their mind?

That's a good way to kill fan interest.

If we keep doing things the way we've been doing, then the franchise may as well pack it in. Do you really want the play-in to be the perpetual ceiling? Because that's what it is and will continue to be if drastic measures aren't taken.

I’ve watched this franchise since it came to New Orleans and I’ve put up with a lot of bullshite. If they hire either of these dudes that’s the thing that would get me to say frick it and stop watching or supporting them.

There’s no way they should even be mentioned in the names of best available coaches.

Man I kinda miss those unis.

I really don't care for our current build at all. Even the Skelican jerseys I feel are overrated.

I still love those Mardi Gras City Edition jerseys

If miraculously Kawhi stays healthy they will be in the play-in. With the way he is playing and their schedule they will be the 10 seed in couple of weeks.
So unless OKC gives us some of Cason Wallace or Ajay Mitchell it's not the best offer we can get.
