This is quite amazing. I’d be curious other states data. We’ve grown a lot but most growth is in bigger cities and you’d think they trend blue.

We’ve grown a ton in the past 10 years and voted red then. I feared all the transplants would turn us purple. So I looked at voter registrations starting in 2015 just to see the trends Blue and Red.

2015: Red 886,153 / Blue 882,686
2016: Red 983,932 / Blue 856,717
2017: Red 940,821 / Blue 770,482
2018: Red 1,003,182 / Blue 781,091
2019: Red 1,000,696 / Blue 739,762
2020: Red 1,128,771 / Blue 750,669
2021: Red 1,138,947 / Blue 748,222
2022: Red 1,175,253 / Blue 687,545
2023: Red 1,154,484 / Blue 656,017
2024: Red 1,279,045 / Blue 658,061
2025: Red 1,299,687 / Blue 658,136

And I went back to 2000 just to see:

2000: Red 734,382 / Blue 1,189,332

Some of the years they purge voter rolls so you see decreases or small gains. They list data each Jan and Nov. Some years they didn’t list Nov so I had to grab Jan. Meaning going from Nov one year to Jan next (2 months) then Jan to Nov following year (22 months).

But as you can see our growth has actually increased red voter registrations when I feared it would go the other way. I think it shows people moving away from shithole blue states have learned lessons and know they can’t screw this up as then there are no places left to go.

I did not list Indy but they have grown too.

Amazing numbers.

Everyone should be pushing for maximum voter access. The fact you even have to register to THEN vote is a hindrance.

Same day registration would do a lot to fix this.

The dems started going from the working class party to the socialist party to the leftist moonbat party.

I like how when you’re at the DMV here, you get registered on the spot. So much easier

I don't see what is "amazing" about it.

Oklahoma has always been a conservative state. When Southern Democrats were still conservative (Phil Gramm was a Southern Democrat), most Oklahomans were still voting Democrat (just like grandpappy).

As Southern Democrats have come to mirror Northern Democrats, Oklahomans have migrated to the GOP.

It is not "amazing." It is "expected."

In a lot of ways the parties have flip flopped. But not in all positions. Blue has no platform now.

Exactly. Voting is a responsibility. To do so means you have to understand positions and outcomes. Anyone needing to register on election day to vote has done zero research and is only doing so to steal. Any responsible voter would be prior registered if they truly care about our country and their state/city. It’s not a participation award.

2004 was the tipping point.

Personal sleaze aside, Edwards was an economic populist and Kerry was a patrician douche. Pelousy, the San Fran elitist, pushed out the pro labor Midwestern Gephardt as Speaker.

Since then the Dims have increasingly sold out to the donor class and become completely unhinged on social issues. Also gone authoritarian on civil liberties and become warmongers.

If someone told you in the 1990s that a majority of House Republicans would vote to require a warrant to spy on Americans and a majority of Ds would say "we don't need no stinking warrants" you'd think they were crazy - or if they told you the Democrats would support the Heritage Foundation's health care plan while the Rs would be universally opposed.

I would rather it be the opposite. A more difficult process. If you really want to vote, go through very specific channels of verification. It would help prevent a lot bullshite like illegals voting. Next, deal with dead people and all the people who are 110 years old voting. If you say none of this is/hasn’t happened, then you are being willfully ignorant.

It's amazing when this directly correlates to the explosion of the tech sector in the greater OKC area over this same time frame. Younger entrepreneurial and tech-savvy people have come pouring into the OKC area to take advantage of the growing economy (and "medical" weed) but they're not bringing communist voting habits with them.

So anecdotally, I've seen a couple members of my extended family go off the deep end of Marxism in this time frame. But I've seen 4 of my 5 own kids become hardline conservatives while the fifth remains socially liberal and fiscally conservative. Younger people here are awake and aren't buying into communist ideology.

Thats whats encouraging. The younger population is voting red. Weed isn’t legal but medical weed is. So if they want it they can get it yet it’s not open weed like other states.

Really was surprised because if one looks back to 2000 when it was blue 2-1 ratio and we’ve had huge growth in those 25 years yet now its red 2-1 - thats quite amazing. I really thought we’d be screwed with the high growth.

No. We clearly need less people voting. We should go back to only landowners being allowed to vote. Or only net payers of income taxes (as in you pay more than you get from a "tax return"), at the very least.

letting only landowners or “net taxpayers” vote breaks the connection between political power and equal citizenship, and it reliably produces systemic injustice and instability.
