The ONLY new starter was Singleton.

The defense was embarrassed by the 64th total offense. Blake Baker is trash.

Gooden 11 starts at LSU (22 starts overall)
Guillory 18 starts at LSU
Payton 13 starts at LSU (39 starts overall)
Butler 2 starts at LSU (18 starts overall)
Singleton 1st start at Texas Bowl
Keys 9 starts at LSU
Gilbert 12 starts at LSU (24 starts overall)
Pickett 3 starts at LSU
Woodland 15 starts at LSU
Cooley 13 starts at LSU (22 starts overall)
Spears 4 starts at LSU

But muh opt outs

So your take is not having Haulcey, the Weeks brothers, Delane, or Perkins had zero impact on the defensive performance?

some of you people

Starting a new thread to try and make this low IQ point. 1) Most of those players were rotational guys. 2) missing your Thorpe award finalist at CB, all your starting linebackers, several others on D line doesn’t matter?

This is disingenuous and you are a miserable fan to be this upset after a bowl game in a season where we fired the coach, have a new coaching staff coming in, and have a ton of opt outs.

A lot of those guys were not in th starting line up before this game because they aren’t that good.

Give it a rest and quit spinning th situation in a retarded, ridiculous way.

There was enough talent out there to be better than that...I can say that confidently.

LOL the excuse train keeps chugging along! LSU had plenty of players to fill the needs to defeat Houston yet they were embarrassed!

You’re just an idiot. It’s not an excuse. It’s fricking reality that missing your best players on defense matters dipshit.

Yes. When your best players opt out it hurts.

As for the full season… I was pleased with the defense all year. The defense never lost us a game. The lack of a consistent offense meant the defense had to be on the field 80% of the year.

This offense should have been simple. Throw to Treydez, throw to Anderson, hand off to Berry on occasion.

Brian Kelly? That’s why he’s fired now.

You’re making everyone’s IQ lower with every post.

Most of those not playing were guys who gave direction on the field. The ones who played yesterday were often supported by those who weren't there for the bowl game. It's a different situation when you are suddenly the voice of leadership for the first time.

Houston is Top 25 team from the Big 12. They’re not McNeese.

Losing your 5 best defensive players hurts a lot.
