When guys say they are open to return, it sounds more like a plan to negotiate more from LSU.

Who knows? If they enter, i'd hope they're planning on leaving because the school might just tell them "bye." So many guys screw themselves over doing it that you would think they have to be prepared to leave.

All I know is everyone who comes here is awesome and an upgrade while everyone that leaves sucks and we don't want them anyway

At this point guys don’t need to enter the portal to negotiate with current teams.

how would we know that?

Most guys entering from a team with a stable coaching situation are either looking for a better program or more playing time, with a few leaving a toxic situation or being pushed out because they create that toxic situation.
I feel like the LSU guys who say they are open to returning are mostly feeling out the new coaches to decide if they want to stay.

We haven’t lost anyone worth giving more money to if any at all

In the NFL, this happens a good bit when a players contract is up. Team wants said player back, the player wants to be back, but they can’t agree on money. Team tells the player to hit free agency and if the player over values himself, he returns to the original team for what the team originally offered.
Hoping this is the case with Curne, but someone will overpay for the potential alone.

Curne I’ve heard is about the best deal that is confirmed!

Don’t blame him really. If LSU doesn’t value him as much as somewhere else, then that’s LSU not Curne
