WASHINGTON PARISH, La. — Authorities in Washington Parish confirm to WWL that a man has been arrested in the 8-year-old cold case homicide investigation of Donna Arceneaux.
Washington Parish Sheriff Jason Smith announced to WWL's David Hammer that deputies have arrested Scott Jordan on suspicion of murdering the 40-year-old mother of three, who was found shot in the chest at her home in 2017.

Jordan was booked early Tuesday morning into the Washington Parish jail on one count of Second-Degree Murder, according to the WPSO arrest document. His bond has not yet been set.
"The arrest of Mr. Jordan marks a significant development in our ongoing effort to ensure accountability for this murder," Washington Parish Sheriff Smith said in a statement.
"I extend my sincere appreciation to the Louisiana State Police not only for the technical assistance of their Crime Lab but also for the efforts of their Investigative Team to rescue this case from dormancy. The assistance of the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s office was also particularly beneficial to the investigation, and I appreciate all their support on this case."
The cold case was reported by WWL’s Mike McDaniel and Freeze Frame podcaster Tucker Simmons, which renewed interest in the stagnant investigation.
WWL Story
The podcast they mention in this article, called Freeze Frame, was really well done. He interviews the previous Washington Parish Sheriff about the case in one of the episodes and the interview is very telling. Jason Smith is doing a much better job.

Glad her family will finally get some justice. This is one in a long line of cases that have been screwed up by ineptitude or corruption in W/ST.

This is a pretty significant statement.
Would be interested to know what happened and why.

"The comments I’ve gotten so far are that people seem to be appreciative that we are living up to our responsibility," Sheriff Smith told WWL. "The case was given away for political reasons, and it really should never have been given to the state police. So, we are just trying to return it back to where it should have always been."
Would be interested to know what happened and why.

I believe her family asked the State to take it over since they were not satisfied with the way the WPSO and Sheriff Randy 'Country' Seal
Originally the WPSO wanted to rule it a suicide. The family knew that was bullshite. (Sounds like Nanette Krentel's case).

When do the other arrest happen for the clear cover up of this?

I'd have to go back and re-listen to the podcast to try and remember who all was involved. Guess we'll see.

I’m hoping and waiting for the next string of arrests as well because there’s no way Scott did this alone. Time will tell, but Tucker deserves a lot of credit for reigniting the fire and bringing this story back into the spotlight.
I know he’s been targeted and certain people have said some awful things about him and I can’t imagine how hard it would be, but I do wish he’d keep on the high road and not stoop to their level with the back and forth stuff.
I love this genre of podcasting anyways and it very much reminds me of the “Up and Vanished” podcast about the Tara Grinstead case. I’d say the production value might even be better. So definitely give it a listen if you haven’t already. Tucker did a good job of being unbiased and not “protecting people” that he and his family were close to.
My hometown is sure to be buzzing and I can only imagine the rumor mill and gossip that’s already swirling after this arrest.
At the end of the day, I’m happy to see there may be some justice for Donna. I knew her well and she didn’t deserve what happened to her.

The podcast brought light to some other allegations and criminal behavior that should surface sooner than later.

I’m hoping so man. There’s so much corruption around there. IIRC, the podcast mentioned Donna had footage that would incriminate some notable names (drugs, airport, planes, etc.) and I hope that includes the infamous pastor/cult leader. I hear he’s been having a fire sale and getting rid of some really high value items..
