Has anyone tried the Southern Pecan yet? Tim at Matherne's on Bluebonnet suggested it and it is awesome.

I've had the nut brown. It was very tasty. Nothing wrong with Mississippi.

Yeah, the Southern Pecan is pretty damn good. It's on tap at the Chimes. Indian Summer too, had a few tonight, very good.

I bought a sixer today. Pretty damn tasty! A lot better that abita's version although purple haze is my all time favorite.

i havent tried any of their beers yet, but i was checking out their website and all their beers are like 4%. is that because of mississippi law? seems like you would have to drink a whole bunch to catch a buzz.

They can be up to 6% in Mississippi... a few of their beers are close to that. It's definitely the reason they keep them low.

But then, beers like Miller Lite, Bud Light, etc... are all in the 4-4.5% range.

I moved to the coast about a year ago, they say their beer has a distinct flavor because of the water in Kiln, Ms. Kind of like abita with the springs, except they have a river. I have had pretty much all of them and all are pretty good. Par 3 I could do without, but the Indian Summer, Southern Pecan, Lighthouse?, and Blue Heron are real good. The problem is that only Southern Pecan was bottled until a few weeks ago. They now bottle Indian Summer though. I talked to some people and they said that they were having problems with the taste of the indian summer in the bottle for awhile. I would recommend it in the bottle. AND YES THIS FREAKING LAW SUCKS! But they are in the process of trying to pass legislation on it right now, and get it to like 10-12%....
