I watched this for the first time; I saw that it was on Netflix.

A very oddly paced movie with a unique ending, in my view.

Roger Ebert before he passed upgraded this film to his list of “great movies”.

I watched that whole movie for him to honey trap his waitress/gf kid at the end where the Serial Killer was going but got into a wreck.

Your left with Nicholson doubting himself.

It was way too slow for that ending.

I loved it. A great movie IMO. I even bought the novel by Friedrich Dorrenmatt after watching it and read it.

We all wanted it to be better. It just wasn’t.

A very underrated flick, Nicholson was at his best here and with a compassionate side.

He really did play a man possessed with finding the bad guy well. He also plays someone who's the opposite of the confident, witty, Jack Nicholson we all know and love.

Hope Benicio Del Toro got paid well for his brief appearance.

Directed by Sean Penn.

I think that's one of the things I appreciated about the film vs a typical ending of a police story. It leaves you wondering and questioning. I doubt I'll sit through it again though.

It moved a little slow at times imo but overall I enjoyed it. I thought Nicholson gave a pretty good performance. I liked the beginning where he's drinking whiskey and shaking his head, a feeling I have known all to well

Could've taken a 45 minute nap in the middle, woke up, piece everything together that you missed and still be disappointed with that ending (even though it was bold.)

It’s been awhile since I have seen it but do remember it being slow paced. Going to have to give it another watch
