Fantasy thought exercise regarding The Godfather

Let’s say that through magic, or perhaps technology, Vito is brought back to life at the height of the Corleone family under Michael’s control.
Would Michael have handed the reigns back to Vito?
If not, would Vito have taken them?

100% yes. If Michael was to be believed, he wanted to go straight for a long time and he would have no problem relinquishing power back to his pops.

This is so dorky but I love it. Would Fredo have turned on the old man for passing him over? Imagine 2nd movie ruthless Michael going after Roth for killing the old man?

my fantasy regarding The Godfather is motorboating Apollonia

My main Godfather fantasy is my fan fiction of Godfather 3.
Tom Hagen is killed off screen (fixes the Duvall problem) and Michael gets pulled back (can still use it!) to exact revenge. No cousin boning, no George Hamilton, none of that. You could have still had the Immobilare as bad guys, they could have killed Tom. You could have made Vincent Mancini into a guard for Michael, you could have done more with Joey Zaza, all kinds of good stuff.

I have always wanted to more backstory of Luca Brasi. It was obvious that he was the most feared of all of Vito’s men. When Sollozo was trying to convince Tom to go back and get Sonny to take the deal, Tom said that even Sonny wouldn’t be able to call off Luca Brasi. The only real story we hear about Brasi was him holding a gun to the head of the band leader to get him to let Johnny Fontaine out of his contract. I would have loved a spinoff film showing how Brasi had come into the employ of Vito and the things he did that made him so feared.
