If he came out of the gate playing the way he has, absolutely

We would be 7-8 right now if he started all year, IMO.

This is their most complete game, top to bottom, in five years. Shough looks great. Defense with 8 sacks

If Shough had started from game 1, the Saints would be in the hunt.

Panthers or Bucs will win the South with 9 or 10 wins. It was very winnable for the Saints. There were maybe 3 or 4 games that the Saints weren't in; The rest were winnable.

No, the last 3-4 games were against losing record teams.

This is a huge overreaction.

Not trying to be negative but we don’t have the roster to get to playoffs yet.

That beginning schedule was brutal, would have been tough for him out of the gate.

I just text my buddy and said if week 15 Shough started in week one then 5 more wins isn’t unreasonable

Lot of close losses to start the season. Not to say Rattler was the only issue but he just wasn’t going to be “the guy”

And who knows. Maybe he’d still have Shaheed to throw to

This! He has played well but he hasn’t faced top NFL defenses yet. He didn’t start the season because he wasn’t ready. He has done a helluva job with the opportunities that he has been given. I didn’t like to see him get hit so much today and we should have let him sit towards the end

We would have beaten the Cardinals, possibly the 9ers, would have beaten the Bears, and likely the Bucs as well.

That puts us at AT LEAST 7 wins, more likely 8 or 9.

He looks completely different from the preseason. You could tell the difference his first and second games he got in. Plus we played much better teams in the beginning.

I think he needed the extra time and coaching. Similar to Maye last year.

Im proud of them. Maybe they will figure it out long term.

They have huge positions to fill to be at a high level. I’d say 5 years from even sniffing a playoff run to Super Bowl.

Pretty sure Shough himself said he learned a lot running the scout team while Rattler was starting

He's definitely been better than Rattler. Only thing is he has been developed a bunch since preseason. In preseason we still saw some of the panicking under pressure that was glaring on his college tape. Since he took over he's not really done any of that. The time sitting probably helped there.

I dont think he would have lasted the season if he started week 1.

Saints are a mess.
