Asking for truthful answers or serious opinions: what do you think is Trump’s true motive for wanting to reschedule cannabis?

Dumb. Weed does a lot more harm than most people realize or want to admit.

Hilarious. Now the left is going to turn against marijuana.

Agreed. Anything can be harmful to a person but alcohol is thousands more times harmful than cannabis.

I’ll take the person saying weed is harmful seriously when I see them fighting for alcohol prohibition.

Biden got votes by promising but not delivering.

Takes an easy point off the table for future elections.

Right. Say what you want about weed but it’s automatically invalid when alcohol is legal. If you felt that strongly morally you’d give both of it up, but they won’t because that’s their drug of choice.

Users...

Those who don't partake are split between those who just don't care, those who think prohibition is ridiculous and those who want it to stay status quo... I imagine the first two of these groups well outweigh the third.

My only gripe about pot and it's related products is a streamlined test for intoxication would be nice before we open the floodgates.

Not only deaths, but how many lives are affected negatively due to alcohol?

Abuse? Rape? Child neglect? Injured due to drunk driver? Stepping on a pop top?

I’m totally in that camp but curious to know what Trump’s strategy is for this. If he’s like, this is ridiculous, it should never have been Schedule I, then I could buy that.

Fine, by that measure Alcohol should be schedule II. Exponentially more harmful, kills 150-200 THOUSAND Americans a year and directly impacts millions and millions.

This is where I stand. I don't drink so I can have that opinion. Even if I did there's BAC tests. Weed is less harmful than alcohol as far as direct consumption, but we don't know if/how many people have been killed by driver's under the influence of marijuana.

Yeah, should be unrestricted except by age but kudos to Trump for making a move in the right direction.

Now that it's rescheduled we can collect data by having volunteers toke and then use a driving simulator.

Entire discussion is dumb. Weed, as in the plant itself, should not be a controlled substance at all.
