Despite the disppointment of LSU not contending for the playoffs it is conceivable the Tigers may have still been the 15th best team in college football. The lowest ranked team to beat the Tigers was 14th ranked Vanderbilt. There were one touchdown or less losses to the 6th, 8th and 14th teams, and an 11 point loss to #9 which was still a one score game late in the fourth quarter, all on the road. The only bad loss was to A&M in a game they led at the half until the roof caved in. The most important players on offense and defense were injured and missed several games or were limited by their injuries. Its not inconceivable that they may have won 3 to 4 of those games with those players at full strength and would have likely made the playoffs. The difference in all of those losses was QB play. A healthy Nussmeier would have resulted in more scoring despite the offensive line issues, and a healthy Weeks would have limited the effectiveness of the opposing quarterbacks. The Tigers would have been favored over the rest of the top 25 teams.

Kiffin inherits a a decent core group. thus far the portal departures are not very significant. Kiffin has shown an ability to successfully work the portal and should do so again. He will get a quality QB and hopefully one who remains healthy and is able to make the difference in what should be another season of close games.s.

swap the schedules of OM or A&M with LSU, and LSU would have been a minimum of 9-3...despite their OL and coach. OM literally beat one team this year with a winning SEC record, that was OU, and OU isn't all that. Om second best win was LSU.....the remaining 5 SEC wins came against teams that were a combined 6-34. LOL

Go look at Auburn’s schedule. Their worst loss was by 10 points against Georgia. Do you think they are a good team?

And now you understand why BK was fired. There is very few "dominant" teams in Football since NIL. We absolutely should have been in the playoffs this year with this team.

Medicore QB play even with our Oline takes us there.

You give OM or A&M the schedule Florida had, they are each at the very best 9-3, and I seriously doubt that. I know it is probably really hard to make schedules easy, but OM and A&M really got the benefit of the doubt this year...and that, more than anything else, led to the playoffs. Not saying either is bad, but OM does not have a championship defense, and A&M has a QB that cant pass.

You still don't get it do you. You think it is on the QBS. They had zero chance at success with that pathetic OL, scheme, and play calling. Zero.

I don’t understand what you are trying to say. That teams do better against easier schedules and worse against harder schedules?

We had one of the worst o-lines in the nation. We weren’t making the playoffs with that crew. Hopefully we can get a line in the portal and hopefully Davis is gone after the bowl game

Simply this. They are solid teams, that beat a bunch of lesser teams this year....due to their schedule. In the case of OM, this is what they beat:

OU
LSU
Florida
Kentucky
South Carolina
State
Arkansas

They lost to Georgia. I mean....LSU beat Florida, SC, and ARkansas, and I'm sure they would have beat State and KY.

In the case of A&M.......they played ND and Texas.....Texas had a good defense and completely shut A&M down....made them try and beat Texas with his arm, and he isn't capable. Reed is atrocious at passing.

Schedules matter. They aren't all created equally. Florida had a brutal schedule...and even LSU played 5 sec schools who finished 6-2 or better.

Of course schedules matter. The fact that some schools had easier schedules than others doesn’t mean that LSU was a top 15 team…

It’s pretty easy to say LSU makes the playoffs with no injuries, better QB and OL play, and an easier schedule. I’m sure there are 20 teams that could say that.

This makes you look like a total bitch.

"Swap the schedules with two teams that beat LSU, including one that absolutely gang raped us"

I’ve said since day one that when our team is healthy, there’s not a single team in the country that could beat us. We had the God coach, but has the old saying goe, God needed a driver, so this is where we are now We have Kiffen; let’s just see what happens.

Delusion persists. 7-5 team may be the 15th best team in college football. Go hang up some Christmas lights, man.

This. It’s hilarious when people say “if we didn’t have so many weaknesses, we would be a better team” like yeah no fricking shite
