I work in a school. Once disciplinary action against a certain demographic outpaces their numerical proportion of the school, it is assumed that it is because the system is racist. They eventually reach a point where they've meted out all of the discipline that they're allowed for that demographic, so they have to let any subsequent infractions go unaddressed.

It would be such a tragedy if the students assaulted the people who allowed the murderer in their school or burned down their homes. I would be so broken-hearted. Polite words will convince people in power to change, not real consequences. The law is not totally useless when it comes to protecting our children, so keep putting your faith in it and our leaders.

This is 100% true and 100% atrocious and inexcusable.
ETA: admin is left having to be very discretionary in its discipline of black students. If the numbers become disproportionate, unless it is a major crime like this, discipline for black students ends. To keep that from happening, less severe incidents are overlooked to preserve the punishment for when it’s “really needed.”
Another byproduct of this is that white students receive disproportionately harsh consequences so that the numbers can be held proportional.

It would be less frequent to just list the days where there are no black-on-white murders.

This wasn't even the first black on white HS scissor attack this month.
