He actually does have a legit argument. He’s asking for a retroactive redshirt because he only played 2 games his Freshman year. But NCAA will NCAA.

What’s the actual situation with him getting another year because I kept seeing people say Pavia got a extra year and Trinidad is expected too as well but Pavia was at a juco and Trinidad was at a D2 school but it’s a four year college. Then someone mentioned a medical redshirt that was never filled. What’s the actual argument here?

He only played 2 games in his REDSHIRT Freshman year in 2022. He redshirted in 2021 when he played no games. That somehow gets lost in the media reports and statistical summaries. He already had 5 years to play 4. The waiver depends on demonstrating he could have gotten a medical redshirt for 2022.

As of right now, we have 1QB returning and that is still up in the air. So will have to get QBs out of the portal even if Chambliss comes.

Idk if anyone knows that for sure except Trinidad and his team, but given the fact he’s filing an appeal for a medical redshirt…I’m guessing he had some sort of injury during that season.

I haven’t seen any reporting on that. Mostly I’ve just seen the erroneous argument that he only played 2 games in 2022, which didn’t qualify for a redshirt at the time in DII, but would in DI. The problem is he already redshirted, so that’s irrelevant. I have no idea if they have strong evidence to support a medical redshirt or not, but that would seem to be the only possible avenue to justify another season.
