Anyone have any cool Scotty’s? I’m kinda getting dangerously addicted to some of the older models and headcovers. Just recently bought a tel3 like the one Tiger won the 97 Masters with. I need to chill tf out

I could easily be a dope fiend for Scott Cameron gear. It's out of my budget though. I've got a couple of Louisiana event head covers and other swag. No putters yet. Saving the $10-20 I win here and there to cover the tab. Kind of want classic refurb or one that's in good condition, but what would y'all lean towards for your first Scotty?

I used to have a bag full of Scotty's. Pre Scotty stamped Titleist, OG bullseye, handful of CT's, "prototypes", production run Tei3, oil cans, studio stainless, red x, etc. but the one that got away....the Futura.

My favorites were these three "prototype" knock offs he did.
Beached studio stainless center shaft with the three seemore dots on the heel.
Tour dot prototype that had a 4-5" long slant neck newport with a SSS insert.
Oil Can prototype that was a 1.5 that had the sexiest finish I think I've ever seen on a putter.

Wild part is I gamed all of them.

Newport is his classic blade.

Phantom series has great mallets.

They say “most” golfers should try a mallet.

They are premium putters at premium prices.

Very overrated putter. I think Ping putters are far better than Scotty Cameron.

My every round putter for a long time has been an older Newport 2 that looks like this. I thinks it’s the 05 or 06 model year. It’s still in great condition and I love it

How it feels.

It will be really hard to pry me away from my LAB DF3 though

I have about a dozen putters from a lot of different people. Only Scotty in the collection is a refinished TeI3. I’m more partial to Bettinardi and their price points on the Tour Dept and Hive stuff.

All that said, still game a DF3 lol

Had 10 or so until recently sold a few on Marketplace. Had a few doubles

That was the only type of putter I games from ages 18-38 until last year when I started gaming a LAB.

Still have the one I used my senior year in high school with the headcover and divot tool.

I debated sending my TeI3 off to be refinished but decided against it. Right before I bought my LAB I played one round with the TeI3 after putting up my Phantom. That thing putts like a freaking brick, can't believe I used that for so long.

I agree, but they are a premium product.

If someone likes it and enjoys it, I’m all for them to have it.

Putters are going up in price in general.

I’m a die hard blade putter guy so you won’t get any objective advice from me…. But would start with a Newport 2 from the super select line to get a good baseline. I can’t for the life of me understand the hype around mallets especially from the tour guys. The need for MOI on the greens is bizarre to me, especially when most guys are playing players cavity irons or blades and low spin driver heads.

My dad was a collector and left me 42 putters when he passed a few years ago. They were beautiful and I say were because I have sold all but a few. The few that I kept are the studio designs with the mirrored dark finish. Perfect condition.

I've got 9 different Scotty putters and most of them could legally buy a drink. I love the older ones that have been refinished and I game all of them. Got 5 of them hanging in a display rack on my wall, but I still use them and swap out from the backup bag and the gamer bag.

To me, a putter that looks good behind the ball and feels right in my hands is way more important than whatever science and MOI and all that ridiculousness. But to each his own.

I’ve had several over the years. Only one I have left is a Laguna that my mom bought from their corporate store at their headquarters when she was there in ‘96 on a business trip. I had it refinished in the pro platinum. Still have 15-20 head covers but have sold several over the years.

I have a couple of full-sized vintage circle T towels. One is from their Japan museum.

I’m not far from Bettinardi and go to their Studio a good bit. Their fitting experience is awesome. I can walk into their studio, pick a putter and have them build it to my spec. Amazing service.

Been playing with the same Newport 2 since high school. I think it's a 2003 model. Probably should get with the times, but just feels right.

Based on what? Do people average less putts per round on average over Scotty's? Do the nearly double the PGA tour players that use Scotty's over Ping use them just because of the name and not because they like them better or they feel better?

I was playing a round with a friend this year, and I noticed he had a Scotty Cameron in his bag that he was using. I asked him about it. He tells me his sister won it as a door prize at a work conference. She was about to bring it to a pawn shop or give it away or something like that. But she asked him if he wanted a free club, so he looked at it and immediately realized what it was and so he got a free SC.

I have about 6 or 7. My favorite is a Scottsman 944 prototype still brand new with plastic on the grip. It was part of a series he made while he was in between Mizuno and Titleist.

I’ve been a club Cameron member for a few years. It’s easy to get addicted to buying the expensive stuff that drops. After awhile you just have tons of it and never use it and you realize what a ripoff it all is. The Peter Millar clothes are awesome though. Still buy that’s stuff.
