Transfer portal clarity.

When will we start to get clarity on where the transfers will go? Will it all be pretty much known before the portal opens?

It’s gunna be just like nfl free agency. Window doesn’t open until “midnight of this day” but somehow at 12:01 every team is signing guys to contracts… but they aren’t allowed to talk before

You can have idea just like before the draft, you have an idea of where people are going.

You always catch wind of rumors, but teams aren’t technically allowed to meddle with other team’s players. So theoretically, they don’t start talking until the portal opens.

With the caveat that agents can talk to schools about their players interests beforehand. Hence the quick decisions once portal opens

I read an espn article last month that said a lot of commitments would go public on day one. Communications are already underway, but we won't really get announcements until at the earliest January 2nd.
What this also means is that a lot of our current targets may not even be known until they commit, so opening day of the portal may bring us a lot of surprises (Besides Leavitt, who 247 reported that we're after, and Texas DB Derek Williams, who Shea Dixon believes is a target)

Agents/reps can talk to schools at any time. It’s only illegal for schools to contact players before they entered the portal.

NIL guys at schools are talking to agents who are talking to their guys. Tampering is happening with every team. Its all just a farce at this point.
