All these great RBs come to LSU to fizzle out…common denominator…

Frank the Tank.

"But, but, but we won't be able to recruit New Orleans"
Give me a break. If LSU is winning, they won't have a single problem recruiting NOLA kids. IDC how much the NOLA HS head coaches like Frank
Easton Royal grew up a huge LSU fan and look how good the staff did there..

Still have time to flip him since he’s a 2027. The new staff might make him a priority

Frank needs to “hit the road dude”

Look at RB stats at LSU during all of Frank’s tenure:
1 RB in top 20 of LSU record book under Frank…Leonard freakin Fournette…my dumb butt could have “coached” Leonard to a 1k rushing.
Guice broke out the season after Frank left for UTSA.
And this guy is paid $1 million a year and has nerve to think he deserves to be on field staff still?
Pride goes before a fall.

I’m glad you brought up LF7. He also was coaching LF7 while
His great heisman trophy run imploded..

When’s the last time we had a running back that could put the team on their back? Davis-Price?
Posted on 12/12/25 at 3:13 pm to tigersav
2021-Davis Price-1003 yds
2019-Clyde Edwards-Hellaire - 1414 yds
Both did not have Frank as their RB coach
Lane could read this page alone and have enough reason to tell Frank “It’s been real and sometimes fun, but it hasn’t been real fun”

other common denominators:
scheme
poor'ish run blocking
lack of commitment to running
BK
ps I am not advocating for the Tank to stay. I think NIL has way more influence now we will be fine with or without him.....but he's NOT the only issue with the running though you can point at his rotation as very confusing and lackluster.

Frank the Tank.
Or was the problem the Offensive line with Brad Davis? Or was the rushing issues caused by an ineffective offensive scheme? Or maybe, it was a combination of all three.

come one now the greatest running backs cant even run behind our O line you cant put that on Frank

I hope we get Kewan Lacy from Ole Miss. I can see Lane trying to get him to jump ship. We also need to convince Harlem Berry to stay after Frank Wilson is let go. He can be the lightning to a big, physical RB’s thunder.

2010 - Ridley, Ford, Blue, Ware
2011 - Ford, Ware, Blue, Hilliard, Magee
2012 - Hill, Hilliard, Ford, Ware, Blue
2013 - Hill, Magee, Blue, Hilliard
2014 - Fournette, Magee, Hilliard, D. Williams
2015 - Fournette, Guice, D. Williams, Brossette
2022 - J. Williams, Cain, Emery, Goodwin
2023 - Diggs, J. Williams, Cain, Jackson, Emery, Holly
2024 - Durham, J. Williams, Jackson, Emery
2025 - Durham, Berry, J. Johnson, Jackson
Do with that information as you wish. But I don’t think we have had a lack of talent at the RB position. Also a lot of RB’s would struggle with the run blocking seen under Coach Davis.

Jeremy Hill and he got Guice…. let’s also not act like Guice didn’t rush for 436 yds at 8.5 YPC in 2015. Not to mention he had to run by committee in 2010-2012 with all that talent and it worked out well.

You suggesting his 2010-2015 tenure was not good? I was referring to his return from 2022 to now.

You’re making my point. Look at title of my original post. Great RBs with not so great production. Common denominator = Frank.

Man imagine 2011 with Jeremy Hill. That team was already incredibly intimidating, but Hill would’ve added to that significantly.

This thread shows the true colors of LSU fans. This right here shows why I say, any MFer talking about loyalty needs to shut their hypocritical asses up.
Anybody with common sense knows damn well the RB coach isn't the problem for these running backs playing bad.
Again, ALL BUT ONE RB EACH YEAR IN 2022 AND 2023 AVERAGED OVER 5 YARDS A CARRY. AS SOON AS SLOAN BECAME OC, THE RB AVERAGES FELL OFF A CLIFF. As soon as the blocking changed, the RBs averages went down. As soon as the run scheme changed, the RB averages went down. Yall want to say "all these RB fizzled out...WHO??? Juan Johnson? The dude who was supposed to be a DB, then a QB, then a RB because we didn't have depth? Kaleb Jackson? The dude who looked perfectly fine under Denbrock, then looked like trash under Sloan? I don't remember Noah Cain looking bad 2022 405 yards 5.4 ypc 10 TDs. I don't remember Josh Williams looking bad 2022 536 yards 5.47 ypc 6 TDs, Emery 375 4.93 ypc 6 TDs, Armani Goodwin 267 5.93 ypc 5 TDs. LSU barely ran the ball in 2023 because Daniels was so dynamic, but Diggs had 653 at 5.5 ypc and 7 TDs, Williams had 284 at 5.16 ypc and 5 TDs. All the rest had under 200, but 4.9, 5.32, and 5.26 for those with at least 23 carries. Now how many fricking RBs did I list off in 2 years?
Then fools want to talk about his past RBs? We gone not give him props for LF, but everything else is on him? We gone pretend like he didn't have Guice and Guice didn't have over 400 yards as a freshman at over 8 yards a carry? We gone ignore that he not only got him here, but he produced at the same time and after he left? We gone pretend like these MFers didn't have eyes for other schools, but came here off the strength of Frank? We gone act like Frank didn't keep Darrell Williams from leaving out of state like that LB eventually did? We gone act like Stevan Ridley didn't put out that great season in 2010 leading LSU to an 11 win season when the pass game was straight arse water? We gone act like his run game in 2011 didn't dominate and lead us along with S/T and defense to the national championship game? We gone pretend like Jeremy Hill wasn't a damn superstar here?
