On the subject of 'U.S. citizens being detained'

Bovino confirms a real ID is not sufficient to verify citizenship
Revisiting the few cases where citizens were detained for longer than normal that were posted here a few weeks ago by RelentlessAnalysis:
One was Hispanic on a weed farm full of illegal Hispanics so he was detained until his citizenship was confirmed
Another one was also Hispanic and was detained two separate times for a few hours because he was working on a new construction crew full of illegals
The new thread by LSUTangerine it's very obvious that these people are Somali. They may be first-generation Americans or something, but it's obvious where their roots are, especially with their Muslim names.
Considering the massive amounts of illegals Dems let in, the fact that a real ID is not sufficient to verify immigration status, especially in states like MN where they give illegals IDs, how much do you care that a few people get racially profiled and inconvenienced for a few hours while their citizenship is verified?

Those who want to use it for nefarious purposes, they will have the issue. Those that are following the law and doing things that right way, they won't mind.

I’m in Minneapolis for work. Every uber has been a Somali driver. If they want to catch them, ICE should just call Ubers.

Don’t interfere with ICE and their job duties and there’s a 99.9% chance you’ll be fine.
If you’re confrontational and get in their way, I have no sympathy

If I am detained in order to verify my citizenship then that would be inconvenient for me.
But given the threat to my country I would consider it my patriotic duty.

Just one point of clarification (for the X post).
Citizens are not required to carry "immigration documents".

Immigration documents? Yeah that will work for some. But how the hell is a person who was born here going to have immigration documents?
Again, I support the legal deportation of illegal immigrants. I also support the rights of every single United States citizen.

Meh... this is so typical of federal government lunacy.
Then whats the point of requiring folks to get a "Real ID" to board an airplane?
I have a TWIC card and still had to get a Real ID to fly. The government needs a better process to verify identities instead of redundant cards that obviously don't accomplish the goal.
Im not defending illegals, just bitching about our government.

I am pissed off that they don't do MORE of this -
We are living in a world infected by the CRIMEs of the BIDEN administration.
I consider it in the same vein as signs in doctors offices that say "if you are sneezing or coughing, you must wear a mask"
Now - everyone who may be coughing PROBABLY does NOT have COVID or some other dangerous illness - but the safety of the OTHER people is sufficient to INCONVENIENCE anyone who MIGHT be contagious.
If you are walking down the sidewalk with your young grandchild, and see a group of seedy looking people a block away looking at you - you should not be condemned if you decide to cross to the other side of the street.
COMMON SENSE should not be a casualty of our 'freedoms' that are guaranteed by the constitution.
The constitution was not written to defend stupid (or criminal) people from the results of their own stupidity (or crimes).
The rest of the world does NOT have to be "perfect" in order to prevent you from reasonable expectations of cooperation with law enforcement.

You caught that too, huh?
It's some clever wording because he's setting it up to say that ICE can detain a citizen indefinitely on (flimsy) suspicion of them being an illegal if all they have is a Real ID. A citizen doesn't have immigration documents, so all we have on us is a drivers license/real ID. Such a fun authoritarian loophole!

Another thing this tells me is that the "Real ID" that we have been forced to have added to our driver licenses in all the states is worthless and has done nothing more than provide the government another venue to waste money on yet another mindless mandate.

And the thing is that no one said that mass deportations weren't going to be messy. Especially considering the millions who are here and the ways Dems are fighting to protect them more than their actual constituents.
There will be people detained a little longer than normal while documents are verified. That can happen in any criminal investigation where an LEO can claim reasonable suspicion

Using a mask analogy is a BOLD strategy my friend

Yep. It’s due process, if they’re legal they will have no problems. Dramatic people think they’re being grabbed and sent to the gulag automatically.

My fellow citizens are giving much more of themselves to defend this country than the mer inconvenience of detention.
It's the least I can do.

A person born here doesn’t need them except in your imagination where masked intruders are arbitrarily rounding up all brown people. You have a childlike intellect operating solely on emotions. “They are rounding up US citizens and hard working immigrants are suffering undo stress by the Trump brownshirts”
