How many miles?
My 2013 Tundra has 240,000 and occasionally pull a boat. Never had an issue. Do you tow a lot?

Was just curious. Tundras usually don’t have these issues.

You sure it’s the transmission?

Go to Advanced Car Care on Jefferson (by Parkview Baptist) and ask for Twon. He’s a wizard and will fix it.
I thought I needed a new transmission based on codes. This is a 2013 Tundra 5.7.
Someone recommended I go there recently and $240 later, my issue is fixed.

What is it doing? Toyotas are sealed transmissions. If it is a shudder at 40 mph, that can be fixed with a full flush. Have you ever had the transmission flushed?

i’ve got the same year sequoia was some transmission problems especially on cold mornings. I let it warm up for 5 minutes and all good. I’m at 250K.

When’s the last time you changed the transmission fluid?

Thank you for sharing your damage control for the almighty Toyota brand as a Toyota Sea Org member. Your faith in the church is noted. Surely you will not be branded a surpressive person and banished to the hole at gold base now!

Now this is the kind of advice the that makes the OT great.

Burbank Tire. Honest, they do great work, and are usually far cheaper.

Yeah but I’m not a mechanic and would probably sound stupid for trying to repeat what he told me.
I’ll try, but I’m sure I’m missing some stuff.
He said there was probably a bad gasket or something inside the transmission that was causing codes to be thrown that indicate the transmission is bad, even though it’s not really bad. He said when those codes get thrown on Tundras, they go into “limp mode” to keep from damaging something I guess, which is why it won’t shift.
He said if the same codes go back on in a year or so, just buy a code reader and clear them myself and the truck will go out of limp mode and shift properly.
Mine is a work truck and has 250k.
I’m assuming this is a temporary fix, but the guy that sent me over there did the same thing 60k miles ago and he’s still good, so idk.
