I don’t think that Bama job is as appealing as everyone seems to think…

Therre is a reason they struck out on their top 3 targets last time

If you win there, you are really just continuing what Saban built. No real legacy you can leave

Cignetti at Bama would be a huge problem for everyone else.

Lane.

But seriously, I’d imagine at this point in the game, you’d have to go after one of the elite coordinators.

Maybe someone like Schumann, who’s an alum.

What I do know is that there’d be another round of Sexton getting everyone raises before the dust settles.

This isn't a cycle I'd want to be looking for a coach especially this late. I think Kiffin Lanning Cignetti would be first calls. After that who knows really. Maybe Demeco Ryans? Sark?

Nobody is leaving the NFL for a college job. Especially these days.

Would be the winner

But what can Bama offer him that Oregon can’t / won’t / isn’t already?

Nothing if we’re being honest

Not happening. Cignetti isn’t going to knife his friend Mark Cuban in the back. Both are from Pittsburgh and Cuban graduated from Indiana. Cuban hadn’t donated a dime to athletics. He recently donated 50 million to the athletic department so they could sign Cignetti to a large extension. Highly doubt he’s going to screw over Cuban.

People throw this crap out there like they have inside info that contradicts what happened. Saban retired on Wednesday and Byrne was in Seattle on Thursday meeting with DeBoer. DeBoer was hired 48 hours after Saban announced his retirement. So somehow Alabama missed on three targets yet still had a new head coach hired within 48 hours. That math doesn’t work.

They would make Saban say no, then Lanning. After that they could make a run at Lane or Sark. I think Sark would be preferred by their money people.

One last name I think would get some play would be the one they always thought would take over after Saban, Dabo Swinney.

You say yes now because you aren’t following the guy now.

But Kalen isn’t leaving
