Please do tell us of such events previously whereas the Pentagon, FbI, and DHS work together to seize an oil tanker.

LMGTFY: Is it common for FBI, DHS and the Pentagon to work together to fight crime?

quote:

"Yes, it's very common and standard practice for the FBI (Justice Dept), DHS (including HSI), and even the Pentagon (through DoD agencies/intel) to work together in concert, especially on major threats like terrorism, organized crime, cyberattacks, and national security, often through joint task forces (like JTTFs) and information sharing to "connect the dots" across federal, state, and local levels.
Key Examples & Mechanisms
Joint Terrorism Task Forces (JTTFs): These are foundational, bringing together federal (FBI, DHS, etc.), state, and local partners to combat terrorism, notes the FBI website.
Transnational Crime: For groups like MS-13, the FBI uses multi-agency, international task forces (TAGs) involving State Dept and local partners to tackle threats originating abroad.
Homeland Security Task Forces: DHS (specifically Homeland Security Investigations - HSI) collaborates with the FBI on task forces targeting violent crime and transnational organized crime.
Information Sharing: Post-9/11, initiatives like the Patriot Act broke down barriers, allowing intelligence, law enforcement (FBI), and defense (Pentagon) agencies to share info to address threats better, say Department of Justice analysts.
Strategic Frameworks: DHS emphasizes interagency collaboration for countering terrorism and supporting local efforts, requiring unified approaches, according to a Department of Homeland Security publication.
Why It Happens
Complex Threats: Modern crime and terrorism cross jurisdictions (local, state, federal, international) and domains (cyber, physical), requiring combined resources.
Jurisdictional Gaps: No single agency has all the tools or authority, so pooling expertise (FBI's investigative power, DHS's border/security role, DoD's intelligence/military tech) is essential.
Intelligence-Driven: The strategy often involves letting intelligence lead and leveraging partners' unique insights to target major threats effectively, notes the FBI.
In short, it's not just common; it's the expected way federal agencies tackle significant threats that impact national security and public safety, often alongside state and local partners.

Yes it is common for them to work together. Who cares what the object they seized was?

How about that, the U.S. does know how to capture a boat instead of bombing it.

They had to get the CIA’s coke off the ship. CIA had to change up from the drug boats they’ve used for years because Trump started blowing them up.

The FBI was involved because the sanctions are US sanctions not International sanctions thus a violation of US law via the state department( who placed these sanctions)

NCIS has statutory rights to execute warrants. FBI agents are not going to conduct an offensive maritime operation to board a hostile freighter without assistance, they will partner with naval special warfare. You can read all about this operation next week when some seal publishes a book about it.
