Is Lane safe in this next round of the coaching carousel ?

I mean we don’t have anything to worry about … DO WE ?

Lane is completely locked in and I believe he’s been given the keys to the castle.. he will be able to make his own dynasty and not be in any ones shadow

Lane is not leaving for another college job. I think you do have to worry about the NFL one day.........maybe

The only program that rivals Notre Dame in self-righteousness is Michigan. They'd never hire Lane.

They wouldn't hire him because of how it ended at Bama.

He would lean on Pete and Nick again and they would tell him to stay put.

Touché but it’s different here vs Ole Miss…
Granted college landscape has changed in a sense … LSU still has more resources available than ole miss can ever offer..

Prime examples
They had 68,000 plus on their prime time biggest crowd/ best crowd ever against Florida

With our crap year 11 am kick off against 2-5 arky we had 75,000 with our lowest of the season..

LSU has the benefit of being the single main college in the state

Lane signed more 5 stars in a week then he did during his entire 6 years at ole miss

It’s just different here

Because the programs are totally the same. Don’t be dumb.

No

Umm, yeah.

Bigger program with more resources and demands opening up, where he could hit the peak of the mountain.

One difference would be that he didn't build 6 years of ties here, and doesn't have a couple contacts in the area. And he would be coming to the rescue of a program left by their coach, instead of one that fired theirs.

I think everyone needs to take a step back and think about this, our offer wasn’t just money and prestige, it was control over making decisions on staff and money for players. Lane is already heavily down the recruiting path and things are setting up nicely for him in all regards. Even if Lane’s ultimate goal is to be the Bama coach (which given the expectations he’d have over his head via Saban isn’t as attractive as they’d have you believe), he’d be setting himself up for instant failure at this point. I can’t see him leaving anytime soon.

Also, Bama isn’t worlds above our position, if at all.

He will leave. But not this fast. We are safe for a few years for sure.

Lane doesn’t like cold weather. He’s not leaving for a Big10 job.
