How much money does Arkansas get by Bama sneaking in the playoffs?

The head of the CFP committee is the AD at Arkansas so I was curious if Arkansas receives any economic benefit by bending over backwards to include Alabama in the playoffs.
If so, any idea how much?

The SEC basically splits playoff money equally. So it would be the amount of money the SEC gets from having an extra team in the playoffs, divided by 16.
If you want to get the number to the decimal point, I think the SEC now allows teams to keep a slightly bigger than 1/16 share of the revenue from their own bowl games and possibly playoff appearances, due to a problem a few years ago where some 6-6 SEC teams were considering refusing bowl bids because they lost money from the bowl games. Due to the fact that the revenue from the game would be evenly split 16 ways while they'd have to pay 100% of their own expenses to go to the game.

The SEC has bowl revenue sharing.

The same amount as LSU.
The Bayou Bengals have to pay off Brian Kelly's buyout somehow.

Internet says $4M for making the playoff, $4M for winning round one, $6M for round 2, and I stopped reading after that

So putting Bama in is worth $4 mil and putting them against OU guarantees another $4 mil for a first round win? Dang

quote:That's just stupid. If an SEC team doesn't go then no SEC team gets ANY money from that bowl. Also, the team gets a 1/16 share from all the bowls and playoff games the SEC teams play in. Some of those the payout per team is huge.

Teams earn $4 million for making the field, another $4 million for reaching the quarterfinals, $6 million for the semifinals, and an additional $6 million for the championship game, plus expenses. That can add up to a hefty sum. If an SEC team declines to go to a bowl they shouldn't share in the revenue.
