2026 World Cup to have a ‘Pride Match’ between Iran & Egypt

In the country of Egypt, homosexual activity is prohibited under Penal Code 1937 & Law 10/1961. They do not specifically criminalize being gay. But the laws are written vaguely. Meaning they can be applied however Egypt sees fit. In many cases, they're applied to gay people. In Egypt, police are known to impersonate gay people on dating apps to trick real gay people into an admission of gay. Laws of this nature in Egypt come with a maximum penalty of three years prison time (plus a fine), for debauchery, scandalous acts, acts of indecency and violations of family principles and values. And reports say that in reality, there are gay people who've been sentenced for up to six years in prison.
In Iran, gay people are tied to the backs of pickup trucks by their penises and dragged through the town square.
At next year's World Cup, on June 26th at Lumen Field in Seattle, WA... on Pride Weekend... Egypt and Iran will play in FIFA World Cup's first ever pride match.
