Read a letter at all Masses saying thise who "fear" I C.E. do not have to go to church.
Just another example of the stunning politiczation of the Catholic Church in America.

Please provide some link or substance to this allegation. If true, then I have a real problem with that...

There are Christians dying all over the world...do they fear God or man?

It was a note from the Bishop that proclaimed illegals who fear getting out have have special dispensation from attending Mass until they feel comfortable. The awkward silence and sighs told the priest all he needed to know.. not a good look for Duca especially considering the present giving season we’re in..

The Catholic Church has been the biggest proponent and monetary contributor to illegal latin immigration because they want the church members, just like democrats want the votes.

The Catholic church is all about power in THIS world.

[quote]Diocese of Baton Rouge grants dispensation to Catholics potentially impacted by immigration agents

BATON ROUGE - The Roman Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge announced that Catholics impacted by immigration agents are not required to go to weekly Mass on Sunday.

The diocese released a letter on Thursday in response to the federal immigration crackdown in New Orleans.

"With the recent publicized arrival of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers into south Louisiana and greater Baton Rouge, and since many of the faithful genuinely fear immigration enforcement actions, thereby making it untenable for them to attend Mass... I hereby grant a dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass for those Catholics rightfully afraid to participate in Mass because of their fear," Bishop of Baton Rouge, Michael Duca wrote.

Instead of attending mass, the bishop encouraged people affected by ICE to gather as a family and spend that time participating in an alternative spiritual practice like reading the daily Mass readings or praying the rosary.

"But for now, let us pray for those immediately affected, especially during this Advent season - a time in which we should be anticipating the joy of Christmas, surrounded by our family in celebration, instead of the experience of anxiety and fear."

Duca stated that the crackdown on immigration is not only affecting the Catholic Hispanic community but also refugees and immigrants of all denominations from other nations.

Weren't of some Jesus's most repeated sayings we're to have no fear and do not worry?
It seems like there should be extra Masses for these people instead of encouraging them to stay away from Church.
Who are the bishops working for?

I, for one, am sick and tired of the entire Catholic Church and all of its actions

I think the Catholic Church is not a true representative at Christ and God but just another greedy despicable human establishment

Bishop Duca going political again

One of the biggest turn offs to "church" has been everything becoming political in the past few years. People will worship outside of the organized church

He’ll conclude that you also fear ICE.

So sad to be informed of this. The Mass is the highest form of worship we have. By disencouraging attendance he is hurting the faithful. A better idea would be to have special Masses for these people.
Reminds me of what he did during COVID. Locking churches and canceling Masses while tens of millions of people were dying in mass seemed the opposite of what our faith calls for.

What if we fear being hit by a drunk illegal or murders on the way to church?

Let us especially pray for the victims if illegal immigrant crime. Something the good bishop left out.

Didn't get read at our Catholic Church in the diocese.

Duca is a fallible human, and I'm comfortable, as a Catholic, saying he's retarded for writing that.

There were several who walked out in the middle of that. If I were the priest, I would have told him that I wasn’t reading that crap. Why would the American Conference of Bishops want to turn Americans away from the church?

Wow! That's downright shameful. These illegals are ILLEGALLY here. They need to go! Come here legally and you don't have to worry about ICE. This is a terrible precedent for the Catholic or any church to establish..

I just stopped my sizable contributions. The wokeness continues at the same time we bemoan the lack of church attendance. I'm done.
