I wouldn’t be surprised if they ultimately add “play in” games like March Madness does.

The answer is the BCS system but put the top 12 teams (per the computers) into a playoff. This is not hard if it weren’t all so corrupt.

This. Championships are won on the field by you know, winning. It’s not a beauty contest on who looks the best. If you cant step up for the big games that matter, you don’t deserve to be a champion.
