Was anyone surprised by Sayin's arm strength?

Or, lack thereof? I didn't notice it during the game so much. But those Hail Marys he didn't drive it 50 yards.

I noticed the same thing. Expected those throws to go a bit further downfield

It wasn’t Sayin’s fault as much it was Hartline being an absolute dumbass when it came to calling offensive plays.

Hartline got exposed big time tonight and had no answer for Indiana’s defense. I can tell you for a fact that Ohio State won’t be making a playoff run with him calling the offensive plays.

He’s got an absolute freak show WR and he can’t do anything but check it down and throw underneath.

Certainly paled in comparison to that rocket Mendoza threw in the third. Dude chucked that pass(interference one i believe) 70 yards rather easily.

Ohio state rolled around all year acting like they wanted to become Iowa and sit on the ball and not take risks to limit possessions. Except Iowa does that because their offense is shite.

Reality is tOSU had a young QB who isn’t great right now and they don’t trust him enough to cut him loose, so they installed a game manager style for him.

The kid has every advantage a QB can want.
His blockers will be pros.
His WRs will be pros.
He never has to play from behind-- until last night.

Sayin will probably be a pro too. It’s a tough position and he had little experience and a coaching staff that didn’t want him to make mistakes.

They could have realized last night how hard that style can be and maybe they cut it loose in the playoffs. Kid made some great plays and throws, OL couldn’t protect him well enough against a tier 1 DL.
