I know things didn’t end well with O, but we also need to remember that he did bring us the greatest football team of all time. If he was willing to come on as recruiting coordinator and not have a place on the defensive side of the ball, how can we not be excited about that opportunity? 25 million in his back pocket, it would be ridiculous. I know I don’t want him out there doing that at Florida or some other school against us.

He can do whatever he wants for whomever else he wants. LSU will prevail no matter what he decides to do.

Ed Orgeron betrayed LSU and deserves to receive nothing in material compensation from us for the rest of his natural life.

Isn't he the same as BK, didn't put any effort into the job after 2019.

Does not deserve to step foot on the campus again.

Yes, he betrayed you by bringing you the greatest football season you’ll ever experience in your life, but yeah, let’s just say the hell with him. I guess no one believes in second chances around here huh? Lane sure has gotten plenty of those.

No, his betrayal was twofold

1) did not give his best effort to the job after the 2019 season.

2) worse, he laughs about receiving notice of the firing and buyout, painting it as though he was “winning” in this situation.

He has no place here. The end.

All that interview proved was that he no longer needed to be the head coach of LSU, and he knew he didn’t even deserve it. He was laughing about the fact that yeah, somebody else needs to be doing that instead of my dumbass. But that sure as hell doesn’t mean he can’t be a huge value and asset to our staff going forward if he came on.

No Ed O. He will be trouble wherever he lands. Nobody else wants him and he knows it. His only chance is to beg Coach Kiffin for a job.

But nothing. If he's such a great defensive line coach or recruiter someone would have hired him already. The truth is, his coaching/recruiting abilities aren't enough to make up for his other bullshite and the market has spoken. Thanks for 2019, good luck with whatever you do next, which shouldn't be anything associated with LSU.

In terms of coaching, he had very little to do with the championship team; he is a moron. He was fired at LSU and will never coach here again.

There is no debate. Kiffin went out and got an even better DL coach.

Ed pissed off a lot of boosters before being shown the door.
then laughed at fleecing LSU for $17mil on way out.

the you burn bridges, don't get mad when you can't walk back across them

Being named head coach at LSU was his second chance. If he'd not gone all Brian Kelly after 2019 he probably could have stayed here as long as he wanted. But he checked out and he blew it. Maybe someone else will give him a third chance, but it shouldn't be LSU.

Well he quit doing his job at LSU once and it left us with 39 scholarship players. What’s stopping him from quitting on us again.

He needs a permanent exile from LSU.

They sure have a lot of idiots on this board . Unless they aren’t happy with the Kiffin hire …Kiffin sure has a lot of respect for O . He was one of the 1st calls he made when arriving the campus . So if Kiffin respects and likes O . I’ll side with him instead of these message board idiots who think they know more than our coach

My god. Some of you people need serious help. Acting like the world and LSU football will END if Frank Wilson and Ed Orgeron aren't apart of the staff.

LSU just hired Lane Kiffin who is pretty good at coaching offense - leading Ole Miss to a top ten offense every year while being a head coach there. LSU just resigned Blake Baker and most of his staff is likely staying. They are pretty good at coaching defense. Also, LSU is likely hiring Elijah Robinson...... who will likely be better than Kyle Williams.

What is exactly is the problem? I guess everyone else on the LSU coaching staff just sucks and should hang it up if Frank Wilson and Ed O aren't on the staff.

I appreciate and respect all of your opinions/respnses. Personally, I think he could surprise you guys and be pretty damn valuable. Regardless, damn happy about the current staff and know LSU will be fine with or w/o O.
