About to introduce new pullets to my kids beautiful rooster. I built him a separate coop while they grow but the dang raccoons dung under the door and smoked him last night.

Traps are set. Cams set on traps. Raccoons die tomorrow.

I guess Im gonna have to dig down and bury wire around the secondary coop. They done messed up A A Ron

What’s the best way to get rid of raccoons on my Hunting property? Only problem is it’s 45 min away from my house. Had a picture with 9 in it at one of my stands last week.

Dog proofs are cheap and work great.

They catch on to the Dog Proof traps pretty quickly. I also live a long ways from where I hunt, so I bought the traps and talked one of the neighbors into setting them. He caught a few, especially at first, but once they wised up, catches fell off. Between them and the damn beavers, I feel like we are on the losing side of major warfare. I haven’t seen as many this year (yet), hoping they moved over to the place next door where he feeds year around and stayed there.

Build and stock them a liquor cabinet. This seemed to have worked in Virginia.

If it’s not something you can check daily, look up bucket trap.

Here is a link:

Stop feeding corn. You can trap 90% of them and they will repopulate within the next year. If you feed, the coons are gonna get theirs.

Had those frickers in my sub division here in Florida getting on my pool cage at night. They would tear the screen up and even take a shite up on top. They did it 3 times in a week

I just used a live trap and cans of catfood. Caught 4 in one week and never say another one

If you have a FoxPro you can also call them in. It’s rather fun. Plenty YouTube videos of it too

I have to catch them incognito. I have neighbors that would be a pain in the arse if they knew you were trapping them

You also might want to consider that catches dropped off because most of the coons were dead

I have some good experience with DP traps. And yes they do get shy after a while. But changing the bait will bring your catch rate back up. I start with corn and then move to little pieces of sardines.

Also if they start getting trap shy, just start feeding them corn and sardines and cat food in the trap, but with the trap not set. They'll ket their guard down and then you can start setting it again and hammer their arse.

You just have to be smarter than a raccoon.

Nothing if you’re baiting. You’re subsidizing their very existence.

RIP to your chicken.

Definitely a coon kill.

You might try fox urine. They sell it at Feed Stores usually.
I know it works for squirrels, not 100% on Raccoons.

Those are some crafty bastards.

Good luck.
