If we know the dem party like we think we do, we can assume a few things.
1. They expected this to be actually violent, not just disorderly and vandalized.
2. This bomb was supposed to go off and injure someone
/cause damage they could point to so they could go all in even worse than they did. Blame far right etc etc
3. Its so humiliating from an organizational standpoint that Patel/Bondi are scared to admit
