Oregon DC Tosh Lupoi will be officially announced tomorrow(?) as Cal's new HC.

Since he was at Alabama for four or five years, I wonder what you guys think of Tosh.

Great recruiter. Got demoted as DC by Pete Golding, which means you really had to suck. That was 7 years ago though, maybe he’s improved

Sucks. Was hoping Rolovich would keep the HC job.

OK, it's officially official as of Thursday night.

Tosh won't be formally announced until a Friday afternoon press conference, but on Thursday he already offered Rashad Streets, a junior 4-star edge rusher who Tosh was recruiting to Oregon. The guy already has offers from several top programs so I'm not saying he's coming to Cal, I'm just saying Tosh is already workin' it, wasting no time.

Cal is opening up the bags. Ron Rivera is in with their money people so Tosh will have some players.

Good news. This needs to happen. If the alums don't step up, firing Wilcox would be a big mistake.

If Lupoli has good coordinators - and trusts them, especially the DC - he won't have to be making the play calls. As with all new top guys, micrmanaging will be the problem.

Speaking of money, what's happening across the Bay at the Farm?

So, Frank Wilson then. Wonder if he will fail as a HC like Frank did.

Before Frank’s friends and family pile on me, I’ve repeatedly posted the tremendous value his reputation and relationships provide to LSU as a RECRUITER. Just doesn’t need to be on the coaching staff. Find him a meaningful role that still allows him in the locker room and on the sidelines, but not coaching. Sort of like O was in 2019.

Unlike Frank, Tosh realized his issues and went to the NFL to develop as an actual coach.

Would be a good hire for them.

He could be like Cristobal...just recruit like mad and stack talent...let the coordinators do the actual scheming and playcalling.
