Are people still thinking that it matters what these "candidates" do or stand for to get blue votes?
A person just got 45% of the votes for a house seat that publicly stated she basically hates everything about the area she ran for. We celebrate that she lost by 10 points but in reality, she got 45% of the people to vote for her. That should be the headline

Latoya Cantrell won two elections and defeated a recall vote.
Her replacement was the president of the city council whose entire job is to keep the mayor in line and watch the city budget. The first thing she did: feign surprise at the budget problems and waste she found in the city and the mayor’s office after the election.
Her solution to fix it? Increased parking tickets and ticket enforcement. I wish I was joking

One thing Mareno did this week was illicit faux outrage over the mayor having 3 cars assigned to her. You were on the city council for years and now it’s a problem the mayor has 3 cars and a security detail that also operated as a fill in spouse.
I just hope she can keep her nose clean and resurrect the city and return the glory the city once had.
