How will Democrats position themselves on immigration in 2026 and 2028?

If you go by Democrat pols’ words and those of their rank and file online army, ICE is evil and should be stopped. Are they fully in support of open borders in 2026 and 2028? I am unsure of how they maintain any sense of moderate election time platform when their base will demand an open borders pledge.

At the very least, I think they will take a more moderate stance regarding the border.

I know they can wiggle their way out of anything, but I cannot wait to see how they address some of these social issues.
People aren’t going to be super pumped to get back to gay shite, illegals, and being hounded for not being PC. I think they have to be careful.
Are Dems really going to out fig themselves in the primary and get their base fired up with all the shite their base wants? Bc that is going to go over like a fart in church once we hit the general.

Look at how bad Kamala handled her 2020-21 position (essentially open borders) vs pivoting to “enforcement” in the general. It has only gotten worse since then.

I'm not a political analyst by any stretch of the imagination, but the Marxist Dems haven't done ANYTHING to indicate they will do anything different.
They will continue to double down on the same failed ideas that lost them this last election.
The biggest thing the Marxist Dems have going for them is the MSM propaganda machine. Even that continues to be weakened. As they continue to become increasingly marginalized they will become increasingly more revolutionary.
After all, at thier core that's exactly what they are.

They'll back burner it.
They think they have a headliner issue with "Affordability".

They have done nothing to indicate this and they are controlled by the extreme progressive, Socialist wackos.
The only direction they will go is more and more extreme.

Good point. They need more people like John Fetterman to take control.

Full on open borders and full amnesty.

Fester will be lucky to keep his seat at this rate.

Trump will end them during the 2026 SOTU. They’ve made it too easy.

quote:At the very least, just by omission. You won't hear them defending Biden era policies on it or clamoring to change what's going on there. But it's super easy to just focus on ICE busting up Home Depot parking lots or whatever. Not to mention all the "arresting moms at daycares" types of stories where the media isn't even vaguely interested in the truth.
How are they going to concede the southern border?
That famous one that happened the other day with the husband supposedly having a seizure in the car. We all know the truth that she was a wanted criminal and fled from the police, so she was chased TO the daycare parking lot. I can guarantee you that the median voter has been told - and believes - that it was some innocent family that ICE targeted at a daycare center.

Radicals don’t pivot. They will double down. I believe the radical left taking over the Democrat party are comfortable with losing the WH and appeasing their growing radical bases in state elections.

Not sure what this is asking?
They will triple down on illegal immigration. They need the votes.
If the VRA is abolished and states are rezoned to the way they should be and reverse gerrymander all swing states the Democrats will never win another election without illegal immigration.
That’s why Prop 50 and not allowing voter ID to become federal law is the only shot they’ve got assuming massive cheating on a scale that even 2020 would blush at happens
