(A side note here: Honestly, don’t we want more Lane Kiffins? You’re telling me you haven’t had an absolute blast watching all these schools lose their minds this year? It’s been fantastic! This madness is downright hypnotic. And that madness requires people like Kiffin, entertaining but fundamentally nihilist guys who are always looking for the next score and thrusting their perpetually smirking face into every camera within eyeshot, at the dead center of the sport. You really want coaches to just sit at the same job being stoic, competent and dull for two decades, grinding out eight-win seasons and giving canned answers to everything? You want this sport to be calmer? Really? Please. Real life has enough Kirk Ferentzes as is. Give me all the maniacs you’ve got. Honestly, I kind of want Lane Kiffin to take a new job every four years. We can make it our new Olympics. Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart can take over for Marty Smith.)

All these people keep wishcasting for Lane to leave again in a few years, but where can he go from here? The NFL?

He spent 6 years in Oxford and appears to have gotten his personal life together while he was there. And then he left for a better job. I'm not convinced he's eager to go through the hell of the last week again anytime soon.

I’m not convinced he won’t either. He seems like someone who maxes out his current job and then is looking for the next rush. I’m fine with it as long as he wins big and sets us up for the future. (But I’m convinced it will happen at some point).

Well if he maxes out here at LSU, we will all be fine should he leave eventually cause we will be in a much better place.

Lane isn't leaving here unless its for another shot at the NFL.

Bama is probably the only threat. They would come after him just to spite us too.

I don't really care either way because if the NFL and Bama are coming for him it means he has had a ton of success at LSU. If he leaves so be it.

It is very entertaining as long as you are not on the wrong end of it.

Let’s be honest, he didn't max out Ole Miss as much as the LSU and Florida positions became open. I also think its highly likely he would've left after 2 yrs there if we or even Florida had offered him in 2022.

It is certainly a given there arent as many jobs out there better than LSU when compared to Ole Miss, but it would be naive to think he would not listen to one of those schools he perceives to be a step up or even a sideways move if for whatever reason he feels its a better fit. I wouldn't worry about that for at least 3 yrs though.

Look if Lane pops out & wins say 3 Natties & 5 conference titles over the length of this contract then decides he wants to give the NFL a go again I think most LSU fans would think what a great ROI and wish him luck! I know I sure as hell would!

Kiffin is now the undisputed King of college football. You may not like him or how he handles his business, but yo arse is gonna get up every day and check to see what he’s up to.

At that point he is late fifties why not stay and have a stadium named after you and a statue as being the greatest coach at LSU surprising Saban.

But if he is highly competitive and wins a NC, he'll be golden at LSU for years. Even if Bama comes, why go there? You'll always be compared to Saban/Bryant.
